Chapter Thirty Four
Sly Bitch

(Nobody's Pov!)

The whole gang stood together in the dormitory's living area talking about what had happened the night before. Ever since the attack the school had been on high alert.

"It was terrible. It really brought my worst fears to life. I never want to think about that again." Maddie said, her hand resting over her heart.

"I know. It was the shittiest nightmare I've ever had. I hope I can prevent it from happening." Mackenzie spoke, putting a comforting hand on Maddie's shoulder.

"So your nightmare was about your dad killing us?" Maddie asked, causing Mackenzie to nod. "Yeah." Mackenzie responded, shortly. She didn't want to give away anymore information about it. Nobody knew about the ice that was slowly spreading across her body when she activated her powers.

"These villains are getting more persistent." Alcameano said, his arms crossed over his chest. Caleb nodded and scratched his neck nervously.

"I'm tired of this shit. Can't they just take a break?" Caleb grumbled, complaining about the villains attacking nonstop.

"They'll never stop until they're stopped." Mackenzie spoke, the anger coursing through her veins as she thought about the villains.

"I was attacked by Crystal last night and she attempted to kidnap me while I was stuck in that damn nightmare. I'm sure they're coming for me and Philip again." Mackenzie said, clenching her fists.

"Yeah, Seems like your dad holds a grudge against me too." Philip said, sighing as he thought about having to fight Mackenzie's father. He really didn't want to have to do that out of respect for Mackenzie, but he couldn't just let himself die.

"If that's the case you two need extra protection." Headmaster Masuyo spoke, walking towards the gang.

"No I don't think we do. I want to face them myself." Mackenzie spoke, causing Philip to look over in shock.

"Are you sure?" Philip asked, raising an eyebrow. Mackenzie nodded and looked back towards the headmaster.

"I think we heroes need to strike back. It's time for us to launch an attack on the villains." Mackenzie suggested, causing the headmaster to shake her head in disapproval.

"We can't send more heroes after The Phoenix and The Masked Destroyer. It would be a death sentence to do so." The headmaster spoke, unable to sacrifice those heroes for no reason. They wouldn't even stand a chance against both of those villain groups.

"You can't be serious! Those villains are killing hundreds of people daily! They're responsible for the suffering in this city." Mackenzie said, her eyebrows furrowing as the headmaster sighed.

"Please calm yourself. I know you're angry, but we can't launch an attack. We have to focus on defending the city from their attacks." Headmaster Masuyo spoke. Maddie frowned and shook her head.

"Headmaster, Please! Reconsider! These villains are going to keep attacking us until we're all wiped out." Maddie said, standing by Mackenzie's side.

"I agree. You want us to just wait around and watch more of our friends get killed while we just keep defending ourselves?" Philip said, glaring at the headmaster.

"I understand why you think attacking them is best, but I expect you to trust my judgement." The headmaster spoke, standing tall. She wasn't going to just give in to their idiotic idea of attacking the villains. She's tried that approach before and none of the people she sent came back alive.
