Chapter Thirty Nine
Cold(Nobody's Pov!)
Mackenzie shivered and groaned as the pain coursed through her body again. She laid in bed with a warm rag on her forehead and multiple blankets covering her trembling frame. Her conditioned seemed to be worsening, but she tried not to admit that to anyone despite them all seeing it.
Mackenzie was stuck in bed for a few days and everyday Philip and Maddie showed up to visit her. She was lucky to have the two of them, but she was still lying to them. She couldn't admit how bad she was feeling. She told them that it wasn't that bad and that she'd be fine, but she was terrified that she didn't have much time left.
"Mackenzie! I know we've been trying things everyday, but I think I've got it!" Philip said, bursting through her door. He shut the fork behind him and quickly sat down on the she of her bed, his eyes sparkling.
"Oh? What's your idea today?" Mackenzie asked, forcing herself to sit up from her laying position. She winced as something inside her felt as though it was being squeezed.
"This may sound a bit... stupid.. and strange, but I was thinking I could give you a massage!" Philip said, causing Mackenzie to raise an eyebrow.
"Is that your excuse to feel me up?" Mackenzie joked, causing Philip's face to turn beet red. The rocks on his body immediately softened as he turned away attempting to hide the blush on his face. Small flowers fell off his body, landing on Mackenzie's blankets. Mackenzie giggled and playfully poked his arm.
"Oh don't be so embarrassed. I'm only teasing, but I am curious on why that's your idea." Mackenzie said, causing Philip to quickly regain his composure and speak up about his idea.
"I was thinking I could just massage you normally, but light my hands on fire on the icy parts of you. I was thinking that if I can't melt the ice on the outside I could warm your organs on the inside!" Philip said, a wide smile on his face. He had spent all night thinking of a way to save her and he was so proud of himself for coming up with another idea.
"Warm my insides, huh?" Mackenzie chuckled, her dirty mind kicking in. She quickly shook her head and nodded.
"I don't really have any other options so it won't hurt to try." Mackenzie said, shrugging her shoulders. "Roll over and uncover! I'll keep you warm!" Philip said, smiling like a little kid. Mackenzie chuckled at his innocence and uncovered. She was wearing tight black shorts and a tight black tank top. "Lift your shirt.. please.." Philip muttered, looking away as Mackenzie nodded. She took her shirt off and laid flat on her stomach.
Philip took a deep breath and sat closer to her as his hand lit on fire. He took another deep breath as his flaming hand made contact with the ice on her body. He slowly traced his hand from her shoulder down her arm to her elbow. He followed the ice, finally making it towards her side. Mackenzie groaned slightly as she felt the terrible squeeze of her organs. They seemed like they were just spazzing out in there trying to cause her pain. That's when suddenly the pain eased up as she felt a small pulse in her side.
Philip continued tracing over the patterns of ice on her skin while his other hand rubbed her normal skin, without fire of course. Mackenzie closed her eyes and relaxed for the first time in days. The pain from where the ice was subsided at least for now. She let out a sigh of relief and Philip smiled widely. He was helping! He was actually helping her! Maybe his fire really could be used for good and not evil.
"Is that better?" Philip asked, finally pulling away after thirty minutes of massaging her. Mackenzie nodded and sat up slightly. Philip quickly snapped his head up and stared directly at the ceiling. Mackenzie chuckled and slipped her shirt back on, tapping Philip so he could finally look down.
