Chapter Thirteen
A Villains Promise

(Nobody's POV!)

The masked destroyer tapped his fingers onto his throne. He stared into the lava that was flowing alongside his throne. He had a beautiful river of lava flowing alongside his throne all the way across the room and large black and white pillars in his throne room.

That's when a face flashed through his mind suddenly. Why was this still haunting him? He couldn't get past what happened. He touched his cold mask for a moment before taking a breath and shaking his head. He needed to get it out of his head, but sitting here wasn't helping. He hated sitting and waiting for his villains to report back.

'I promised to destroy all of the heroes and make the royal family pay. I'll achieve my dream of a new world, one where I decide what's right and wrong, or what's worth chasing. I'll get my family back one way or another.' He thought to himself. He suffered so much to get where he is now. Even though the days were long, lonely, and boring he could never give up because his dream was closer than ever before. Soon he'll see his family again.

He thought back on how he found some of the villains he recruited. A lot of them needed work on loyalty and discipline, but he whipped them into shape in no time. When he found Ruby she was wild and free. He wasn't sure he could take her, but she suddenly gave up fighting and swore her loyalty to him. He wasn't sure why, but she did.

He found Jade in a place of anger and pain. She was lost and she didn't know what to do with herself. That's something that the masked destroyer understood well. The grief of losing your loved ones can make you do crazy things.

He found crystal in a mental ward, abandoned by her family. Her family abandoned her due to the shame of her not becoming a hero. She was a weak minded individual who could be played. He felt bad for her being all alone. She was young and able to be molded to be exactly what he needed.

Then there was Lucas. He was a bright kid with a great future. He was enrolled in the hero academy, but he was told he was unfit to be a hero. Poor kid was so crushed that he was so easily brought to the dark side.

They were his main squad. They served him well and they respected him. He was closer to them than any of his other villain recruits. He wasn't ready to let anyone into his heart though. Don't mistake him for a kind person because he's not. He's not that man anymore.

"You two ready?" Lacey asked, walking towards the other side of the training arena. The twins smirked and looked at each other before nodding in sync. They were training in a private time loop arena, so they could go all out.

"You ready, Harper?" Harlow asked, brushing a strand of her short wavy hair out of her face. Harper nodded and suddenly grew. She became a thirteen meter monster. Harper smiled confidently as she cracked her knuckles. Harlow pressed her hand to her sisters shoe and suddenly a flash happened. Lacey smiled happily as she watched the two morph together.

"You guys are huge!" Lacey chuckled, remembering how their first exams were. Of course Lacey came first place nearly every time, but the twins really impressed her.

"That's the best part of us being together! We're stronger together." They spoke, a confident smirk on their face.

"I can't wait to get back into training." Lacey said, with a smile on her face. Suddenly Lacey's hands  lit up with a blinding bright light.
