Chapter Forty Six
Rage Is Greater Than Your Power

(Nobody's Pov!)

Mackenzie ran as fast as she could towards the blazing building. It was decimated and crumbling as she forced her way through the rubble. She finally found a way in and slid through the small hole. Her eyes enlarged as she spotted her father's mangled form.

She knew he was the enemy, but she couldn't resist running to him. She scrambled across the ground towards him, stumbling as she tried making it to him. She dropped to her knees at his side, her eyes filling with tears. His body was bent and disfigured. He had a large metal support beam going through his chest with multiple shards of glass impaled into his skin.

"Dad?" Mackenzie muttered, grabbing his hand gently. It was like suddenly the past had faded and now she was forced into reality. Her dad was truly laying before her now.

"M-Mackenzie..." the wounded man uttered, blood spilling from his mouth. He was still alive even in his worsening condition.

"Dad!" Mackenzie gasped, staring down at him with a hopeful gaze. If Maddie was here she could save him!

"Master!" A man shouted, sliding through the same way Mackenzie found. Mackenzie growled and turned around, spotting the enemy.

"Relax. This is Brian." Michael spoke, squeezing Mackenzie's hand tightly. "Master... you're.." Brian muttered, walking over and kneeling down on the other side of Michael.

"I can find Maddie! She can save you!" Mackenzie said, attempting to stand up, only to be pulled back down forcefully by her father. "I should've been a better father." His voice cracked, but he tried keeping his composure. He felt the tears welling in his eyes, but he couldn't cry. He needed to stay strong for her.

"Don't say that now. We can still make up for all the time we lost." Mackenzie spoke, tilting her head as she held back her tears. Michael shook his head weakly. "No.. After what I've done I dont deserve a daughter as amazing as you. Even after all the darkness in your life you never turned to evil." Michael spoke, raising his hand weakly to press it against Mackenzie's face.

"Your mom would be so proud of you, but me.. she'd never forgive me for what I've done in the name of revenge." Michael spoke, realizing what he had done. He was so blinded by rage that he put innocent people's lives at risk. He killed whoever he had too in order to defeat The Phoenix.

"She would understand! She knows why we're fighting!" Mackenzie said, the urgency in her voice as she shook her head over and over.

"Mom wouldn't be mad at us! And if you're as bad as you say then I'm just as bad! I'm throwing my entire life away to kill that bastard! I'm going to die soon dad! I'm freezing to death as we speak." Mackenzie yelled, the fear of death finally setting in. She needed more time! She had to complete her dream! It was their dream!

"That's right. I'm sorry for what Crystal did to you, but between the two of us... you're more than capable of killing that bastard. You still have a fighting chance." Michael spoke, looking over at Brian who stayed silent.

"No.. Maddie can help you!" Mackenzie said, suddenly shouting out for Maddie. "Maddie! Please!" Mackenzie screamed, hoping Maddie would hear her cries.

"You don't have to worry about me. Nobody out there stands a chance against Phil. If there's one thing I can do for you.. let me give you my power." Michael spoke, staring up at his daughter's eyes. Her face resembled her mother so much. It brought so much joy, but so much sadness.
