Chapter Thirty Six
War Is Coming(Nobody's Pov!)
The headmaster tapped the microphone before clearing her throat. Every single student at the academy stood before here in the auditorium awaiting her words. The headmaster seemed very troubled, but she was trying to keep a blank expression as to not worry her students.
"As you all know the villain attacks have been getting more frequent and ferocious. I have to stress the urgency of what I'm about to tell you. Heroes and villains are officially in a war and it's been officially declared by The Masked Destroyer." Headmaster Masuyo spoke, her face blank, but her voice was strong and steady. Every student looked at her as she spoke. She was a symbol of strength and courage. She was very composed and powerful. Nearly every student was willing to follow her and do their part.
"The Masked Destroyer isn't the only threat either. The Phoenix is back after many years of being in hiding. Both him and The Masked Destroyer are after two of our own students. Mackenzie Katrin and Philip Flameburghs. This Academy has always been a symbol of unity and hope which means we will not fall apart and we will not let the villains capture any of our heroes!" Headmaster Masuyo spoke, determination in her voice.
"I believe there will be an attack on our school and when it happens we all have to be ready and fight as one in order to hold off these powerful villains. I will not lie to you this battle will be dangerous and lives will be lost, so if you wish to leave now you may. I will personally keep a place for you in the academy for after this war should you decide to return to us." The headmaster spoke, raising her arms.
"You may walk out now if you don't wish to fight." She spoke, as a few students walked off, but the majority of the students stood strong staring at their headmaster with determination.
"For all of the students who stayed I applaud you! You're bravery is commendable and I'm grateful for your loyalty to our academy." The headmaster spoke, and everyone looked at each other confidently. Some of the students were uncertain, but they would never abandon their school in this time. After all Chrysanthemum Academy was the best hero school in the entire country.
The headmaster waved goodbye as she walked off the stage, finally getting behind the curtain. She could finally take a breath as she escaped the eyes of her students. She couldn't admit it to them, but she was worried about this upcoming battle. She had faced The Phoenix before, but he was more powerful than she had ever imagined. She sent out group after group of her strongest heroes and yet none of them came back.
She had never encountered The Masked Destroyer personally, but the things he's accomplished make her shiver. He managed to recruit many solo villains and grow his villainous organization from nothing to around the same size of The Phoenix's organization. She wasn't sure exactly what The Masked Destroyer was going to do, but she knew he was coming for Mackenzie. Clearly The Phoenix and The Masked Destroyer aren't working together otherwise their groups wouldn't have clashed during the attack on the school.
Masuyo wasn't sure if she could predict their movements in time to create a counterattack, but she knew she would have to stay on guard for as long as it takes. This time she would make The Phoenix pay for what he did to her daughter. Whether Ayaka was alive or not was a mystery, but her nightmare gave her hope, ironically.

Many days passed since the headmasters speech and everyone stayed on guard and on edge. The calm before the storm was always the hardest part. You never know when or where they're going to attack. It could be anytime or from any side.
