Aemond's P.O.V.

"Well... Hello, babies." I hear Cordelia sing out in a giddy tone. "Miss me?"

Glancing away from my laptop to the front hallway, I find Cordelia kneeling on the floor and surrounded by the dogs she once called monsters. Lounging on the couch and cracking a smile, I watch the dogs wag their tails and lick Cordelia's cheeks while she gives them lots of love. However, as I silently admire the group of four, I realize Cordelia came into the house alone.

"Where's Aegon and Daeron?" I blurt out curiously, making her dart her eyes over to me in the livingroom. Smirking at me in almost a proud way, Cordelia stands up from where she's been petting the dogs and answers. "They're still on campus."

I hum slowly while thinking over her statement and regarding how that means they didn't drive her home. Her smirk widens at my thin humming sound since she sees how I caught on to her vague answer. Someone other than my brothers drove her home today, and she's deliberately dancing around telling me who it was and wanting to make a game out of it.

I left campus over an hour ago since I finished all my classes for the day, but my brothers and our roommate still had another class to attend while I could just go back home. It's our first day of the semester and I heard about what happened in Cordelia's first class from everyone but her. However, I'll wait until she brings it up herself before putting my two cents into the matter.

"Okay, baby... Tell me." I sigh while stretching out my arm and resting it on the back of the couch. Raising an eyebrow at the girl who looks like she's trying to contain herself, I ask innocently, while tilting my head. "Who drove you home?"

"Your cousin... Baela Velaryon!"

Cordelia suddenly squeals before rushing over to me and jumping onto the couch. The dogs follow quickly after her, but Vhagar is the first to pounce on the couch to get to her and, by doing so, my dog takes up the rest of the sitting space. Holding back an amused crooked smile, I feel Cordelia forced to settle into my side because of Vhagar demandingly leaning onto her for more back rubs.

"We went to get coffee... And when our classes were over, she drove me around the city to show me all the best food places. I got her phone number, and she said we should hang out this weekend!"

Cordelia explains, with her big bright blue eyes and the widest dimple smile I've ever seen. Leaning on the side of my chest like she's stuck, she then grabs my shoulder to stop Vhagar from accidentally making her fall onto my lap. It's becoming harder to hold back my smile from the sight of how thrilled Cordelia is about her first day, and I suddenly feel like all I can do is simply listen to her babble about what happened.

"Baela told me everything I need to know about you Targaryens... Iron Throne Enterprises, the Red Keep Mansion... Why you guys are such a big deal to Westeros- Oh, and get this!"

Cordelia's eyes go wide while lazily slapping my chest and I quickly force down a laugh from how fast she talking. She then takes off my eyepatch like it shouldn't be there and tosses it on the coffee table, all the while without breaking our eye contact for a second. Pointing at my chest while getting nudged closer to me by Vhagar, she reveals in a sweet tone I would never hear from my brothers.

"Your cousin told me there's a writing competition right after Halloween and whoever gets first place receives a fancy check and some type of medal and a-"

"Baby, breathe. Breathe."

"I'm breathing, Aemond- But, I could enter the enter the competition!" She completely ignores my warning to pace herself and stays content on talking my ear off. "If I won, the money would really help me out and I've never gotten a medal or trophy before-"
