Aegon's P.O.V.
"Honey... What is all this?"
I speak up while glancing over at the dining room table and seeing all sorts of arts and crafts material. Cordelia's in the kitchen putting brownies in the oven while Aemond is outside smoking his cancer sticks. Daeron's upstairs, loudly rummaging through his room in search of something before leaving for his game.
"It's the sign I'm making for the game this afternoon." Cordelia answers while shutting the oven with her homemade brownies inside. Coming up beside me, she waves a hand over the sign and explains her vision for it. "I'm going to put let's go, Daeron the daring in glitter gold and have his jersey number in glitter green."
Letting out a huff in amusement, I grin down at all the stuff on the dining table while picturing Cordelia waving the sign around during Daeron's baseball game today. I can already picture her cheering at the top of her lungs for my baby brother and people staring at her like she's crazy. Just when I think Cordelia can't get sweeter than she already is, she proves me wrong.
Lord, we don't deserve this woman.
Smirking proudly at having a roommate like sweet little Cordelia, I peer to my side and realize how we look ridiculous standing next to one another. I'm in nothing but my boxers since I slept in late this morning while she looks ready to go and be my brother's cheerleader. She's wearing blue jean shorts with colorful flowers all over them and a short white tank top.
Cordelia's wearing white converse with mud stains on them and homemade bracelets on one wrist. Her hair is in two low ponytails with pink ribbon bows and I think she has on makeup, but I can never tell when she does. Rubbing her back in appreciation and meeting her gaze, I speak up with a tone of fondness for her.
"My brother is going to love it-"
"Delia! Delia!" My kid brother shouts from his bedroom before frantically rushing downstairs. "I found them!"
Practically jumping to the first floor of our home, Daeron comes up to Cordelia with a cap and jersey. Grinning ear to ear, he puts the hat on her head and I see the baseball team's logo on it. Lifting the jersey for her wear, Daeron blurts out excitedly as Cordelia takes it from him.
"Don't worry. This is my spare jersey. You can wear it for the game today."
"Thanks, it's so cute." Cordelia lets out a giggle while putting it on over her tank top. Glancing down at her outfit, she then poses for us and asks with a grin. "Do I look ready for a baseball game or what?"
"Yes." I chuckle while knocking at the cap on her head and making it cover her eyes. "You certainly look ready for the game."
"Do... Do I smell brownies?" Daeron blurts out before taking in a heavy sniff and glancing towards the kitchen. Pulling the hat off her eyes, Cordelia nods while confessing proudly, with her eyes going back and forth between me and my brother. "Yeah, I'm making brownies for your family."
The second I hear the word family leave her tongue, I frown at her in confusion while catching Daeron staring at her in the same way. My brother and I dart our eyes to each other from not understanding who would tell Cordelia she's meeting our family. Just before I can ask why she would think that, she blurts out excitedly while facing the sign she's making.
"Your family is going to love me when I pull up to the game with fresh brownies. Not to boast, but my brownies are to die for and it's a perfect way for me to sneak my way into your parents' heart-"
"Cordelia, my family isn't going to the game." Daeron quickly admits before she goes on and on about meeting our parents. Her grin drops in record time before facing my brother in shock and saying in disbelief. "It is your first game of the season though."
