Aemond's P.O.V.
I'm going to kill him. I'm literally going to kill him.
Counting my breaths, keeping my anger from immediately snapping, I storm through the exclusive lounge with my fists in my pockets. My stiff, tall posture causes men to step out of my way and women do a double take of me as I walk past them. It's three in the morning; I'm at the last place I want to be right now, and I don't know what I'm more upset about.
I could be mad over the fact that Daeron called me at three in the morning on a work night, but that is the least of my worries. No, what I'm more upset about is Aegon taking Cordelia to a place like this and paying off the entire staff without thinking it through. However, the thing that is making me see red at this moment is myself for allowing this to happen.
I should have never listened to Aegon or Daeron about keeping my distance from the house. If I had been home for the last two weeks, this wouldn't be happening and Cordelia would be safe at the house right now... But though I'm mad at myself about this entire ordeal, I put all the blame on Aegon.
He officially just lost his authority on what is best for Cordelia.
Scanning through the crowd, looking for a petite girl with a dimple smile, I find two icy white hair brothers instead. Striding towards where I see Aegon and Daeron, I clench my fists in my pockets to keep myself from shoving people in my vicinity. When I reach my panicking brothers and see their gaze glued to someone on a stage, I peer over everyone in front of me and see the reason for Daeron's call at three in the morning.
Cordelia is holding onto a pole and dancing with a handful of strippers on a stage. There is cash sticking out of her white lace bra and dress as she spins around the pole on bare feet. She's giving the strippers she's dancing with that damn dimple smile, not noticing the audience of men around her.
He's dead where he stands... I'm never leaving Aegon alone with Cordelia again.
"Oh, thank god. You're here." Daeron shouts over the music when noticing me standing behind him and Aegon. "We can't get her off the stage. The bouncers won't let us touch her. They already threw Arryk out of the lounge, and we don't have any cash to bribe them."
"Hm."
I hum with a thin tone as I watch Cordelia lean back against a stripper and dance like this is any regular club. With my gaze stuck on her double dimple smile, I feel a stab to the gut from all the emotions spinning around inside me. I haven't seen Cordelia in two weeks, and I miss her beyond reason, but this is not how I wanted to see her again after how everything went down between us.
"How much cash did you bring?" Aegon then speaks up while turning to face me. "I think they'll let us drag her off the stage if we pay them about the same amount I did earlier-"
Not allowing Aegon to finish his slurring statement, I pull my fists out of my pockets and use one hand to grab the front of his shirt. Holding him still and keeping him from swaying right in front of me, I swing my fist and plant a severe punch to the center of his face before letting his shirt go. He instantly falls to the ground while holding his nose and groans out in a howling shock.
"Fuck! I think you broke my nose!"
"Was that really necessary?" Daeron blurts out boredly while waving a hand at Aegon sprawled out on the floor in front of me. Pointing at him with a single finger, wearing an expression that could kill, I mumble in a harsh tone. "Just be grateful I'm not going to punch you too."
"What did I do?" Daeron blurts out in shock with a wide-eyed gaze. "Aegon didn't want to involve you, but I-"
"You let him take Cordelia here." I shut him up without hesitation while grabbing the collar of his shirt with one hand. Pointing at our drunk dancing roommate with the other hand, I announce with disbelief of how he's able to stand here and argue with me. "Daeron, look at her."
