Aemond's P.O.V.
God, kill me now... She used to look at me that way.
Leaning against the bar, with a scotch on the rocks in hand, I let my gaze peek over at the couple on the other side of the restaurant. Aegon and Daeron sit on either side of me at the bar, not bothering to order anything, as they interrogate the bartender about a date currently happening. Maintaining complete silence, I listen as my brothers relentlessly hassle the waitresses and bartenders for information about a certain someone's date, while quietly holding a breath and taking in Cordelia's evident happiness from a distance.
She's smiling that dimple smile I love so much, leaning in close and beaming at Jacaerys, of all people. I can't hear her laugh from my spot at the bar, but I can see when she does giggle at something he said, and it feels like a punch to the heart. From where I lean against the counter, I can see every blush, every smile, every laugh that belongs to Cordelia. It kills me to know Jacaerys is causing all those reactions when it used to be me who could bring out that side of her so easily.
Her dress is not helping me in the slightest, but she already knew that.
The second I saw her wearing the dress I bought her, the dress I picked for her to wear for my enjoyment, all I could think about is when I had it pushed up to her waist while I was fucking her from behind. Cordelia chose to wear that dress to spite me, to show me it's just another dress for her to wear, even if we both know how I marked my name in that dress the second I saw it on her. The dress alone reminded me of every dirty detail that occurred when she first tried it on for me, but I pulled myself together and kept my mouth shut about it.
Good thing I did too... Because my brothers couldn't stop themselves from freaking out over the dress.
"Alright, you saw her... And pestered the staff here..." I sigh to my brothers abruptly, my gaze still drinking in Cordelia's dimple smile, while forcing myself to get out of my thoughts. "Obviously, she's having a good time. We need to leave before we ruin it."
"Hold on. Wait." Aegon grunts while studying the couple across the room like he's inspecting a crime scene. "I think I saw Jacaerys trying to play footsy with her."
"He's not trying, you dumbass. He is. See-"
"Fuck, fuck, fuck. I think I just made eye contact with Delia."
Daeron's eyes widen in terror as he jerks his body upright, his head ducking down in an attempt to conceal himself. Then, before Aegon or I can say a thing, everything seems to freeze in time as we watch Cordelia throw her napkin down on the table with a thud as she abruptly stands up. The sight of her storming away from a confused Jacaerys leaves the three of us holding our breaths, and fear sets in when we watch her stride right towards us at the bar.
"Okay... Time to go."
Too late.
In a blink of an eye, Cordelia is right in front of us, whacking at Aegon with her purse in a blind, heated rage. He instantly moves to shield himself as both he and Cordelia spit out hushed curses, while Daeron and I cautiously lean away from them. When Cordelia lets out enough of her anger, she stops hitting Aegon for a second, only to be able to glare at all three of us with a look that could kill.
"This is so not cool." She growls in pure disbelief before whacking at Aegon one more time and then hitting the back of Daeron's head with her purse. Turning to face me, holding her purse like a weapon toward me, she asks me in a tone that makes my knees weak. "Are you spying on me? What the heck are you doing here?"
"Baby, why are you glaring at me?" I blurt out defensively, my voice tinged with confusion as I raise my hands in surrender, unsure why she's instantly blaming me for this situation. Cordelia's scowl only grows more fierce, and she lifts her purse to hit me in the face, making me say with such urgency. "I had nothing to do with this."
