Cordelia's P.O.V.

"So, Friday night?"

"Yeah. Friday night." Baela agrees before raising a sceptical brow at me. "You sure they won't mind?"

"Not at all." I lie from not wanting Baela to feel unwelcomed by her cousins. Waving my hand assuringly as we walk to the parking lot on campus, I add to ease her mind. "I think Aemond and Aegon are going to a casino that night anyway. Daeron won't mind either... Actually, he might want to hang with us."

"I don't know how you do it." Baela chuckles under her breath while glancing around the parked cars. Frowning at my friend curiously, I ask without a thought. "What do you mean?"

"I don't know how you live with my cousins." She teases while coming up to her car and sending me a knowing look. "They aren't exactly well-behaved guys."

Sighing at what she's insinuating, I bite my bottom lip and pretend she's exaggerating her words. It's no secret to me the problems the boys have since I live with them, but I try my best not to judge them for it. Twiddling with a strand of my hair as we stand in front of her car, I see her give me a meaningful expression with a tickled smirk.

"Cordelia, don't act like their issues are not big red flags." Baela speaks up when I say nothing about her last comment. With her eyes going wider for dramatic affect, she twirls a careless hand and lists off the obvious. "Aegon is a mindless alcoholic and a lazy son of a bitch... Aemond is a raging hothead and a control freak. Daeron is a... Well, he's the best out of them, but he has mommy and daddy issues just the same as them."

"Okay... But it's not like I don't have big red flags either." I blurt out in a tone and try to defend my roommates. Pointing at myself with a sarcastic smile, I state my obvious issues. "I have parent issues. I'm a freaking orphan... For crying out loud."

"All I'm saying is I wouldn't have lasted in that house as long as you." Baela chuckles while putting her hands up in surrender. Rolling my eyes and smirking at her, I sigh while glancing around at our surroundings. "Yeah, yeah."

Baela tilts her head and sends me a look like she's not buying what I'm selling. Letting out a laugh, I shake my head at her as if she is overreacting about her cousins and my situation. Letting out a dramatic breath when she doesn't drop her knowing look, I declare with a entertain smile.

"Yes, they have their moments... But they are good guys deep down, Baela."

"Yeah. Sure..." She snorts while nudging me in the arm. "Whatever you have to tell yourself."

"Oh, hush."

"Fine, I will for now." Baela winks at me before unlocking her car. "Do you need a ride home?"

"No, Aemond's giving me a ride." I answer while waving my hand in the direction he parked his car today. "Thanks for the offer though."

"It's nothing. I'll see you Friday."

"See you then."

Waving goodbye with a friendly smile, I back away from her car as she gets in to go home. She waves back at me through the window before driving to get out of the parking lot of our college campus. Turning around to continue walking on the sidewalk, I let my mind work over the things she said about her cousins.

Yes, all the things she said were true... But they have good qualities too.

Aegon is a sweet guy when he thinks no one is looking and becomes a complete softie when someone is pouting around him. Aemond just has a resting bitch face and if you get past his mannerisms, you'll see his actions are rather endearing. Daeron may behave like he's clueless, but he acknowledges things and secretly tries to fix things when no one is noticing.
