I give them a moment to digest what I said before adding, "The whole time my family, well except for my cousins Eliza and Peter who have been through the portal themselves, believed I was at a boarding school on a scholarship. They even received report cards the whole time. You see, the portal creates cover stories, part of the magic. And only those with Fey blood in them are able to cross through the portal as a sort of defense mechanism to keep the other side protected and separate from this world."
"This land cannot exist, it is not one of the realms." Thor says, actually at a normal volume for once.
"That would be because it is still a part of this world. Just seperatedby a magic boundary that's all. The elves did that to protect the humans from themselves. Very, very long ago humans began to grow hostile to magic and the unexplainable; to prevent the humans from inciting a war which they would never win or slaughtering those of the magical races, the elves gathered the magical races together and an enchantment was cast. To separate the eighth continent, which was then populated only by magical races and humans friendly towards the magical races, from the rest of the world to protect both humans and magical races from each other."
"You expect us to believe this fairy tale?" Stark sneers drunkenly slurringly his words, "Why, what proof do you have? None, besides your powers which for all we know could be nothing more than an experiment."
"I don't know Stark... she has wings way beyond any experiment I've heard of. People tend to brag about that sort of thing, look at Rogers for example. You're drunk, Tony." Banner rambles on, "Beth is telling the truth or what she believes to be true. Natasha placed one of my mini- lie detectors on Beth while she was unconcious."
"Fair enough," I shrug, I would probably put a lie detector on myself too if I were them. "Wanda, will you please pass me another marshmallow?"
"Sure." She grabs a marshmallow out of the bag and hands it to me. I hold it put it on my stick and roast it over the embers.
"Do you want to sit down, Bucky?" I ask, "There's some space over here."
Bucky sits down next to me, Steve and Sam trade places so Bucky is sitting in between Steve and I. Stark finally passes out, Thor catches him before he faceplants into the fire. I think Stark drank too much.
"Nice catch Thor." Nat grins
"Thank you, Lady Natasha." Thor chuckles, "It is quite late, perhaps we should all follow Stark's example and turn in for the night?"
I shrug and douse the fire with the water vapor in the atmosphere. Everyone walks back to the tower, Stark slung over Thor's shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Cap assigns Bucky a room and everyone seperates and heads to their rooms.
