The security cameras caught my story so rather than retelling it and reliving it again I let Clint show the tape to the others because I think if half the team knows my story I should probably tell the rest as well. I don't see their reactions as I make sure I am outside flying around while they watch. When I get back I go check on Krizzy and Mint, both are awake and eager to get back to whatever mess they fled from.
"They probably think we are dead." Mint sighs, "We could go back secretly, pretend to be ghosts or-"
"Correction, I can be a ghost. You can be the saddened friend of the deceased who struggled to save me but tragically was too late. My powers are better suited to ghosting, and I need you to be alive. I have a plan. First, I have a bow to protect." Krizzy gets out of her hammock, she sways a bit and looks like she is about to topple over but then she sits down in midair, criss cross applesauce style and levitates there, she pulls a slim wooden box to her and floats down the hall to the elevator with it, Theo, Dominicus, and follow her. Mint looks at me, "Take me with you. Please?"
I use air currents to pick her up out of her hammock and carry her along with me to the stairs I gently drop down the stairwell and catch us at the bottom before we splat. Into the livingroom, Krizzy floats out of the elevator and runs into Loki's shoulder, She shouts, "Watch where you are floating me Sep! We just crashed into the Jotun."
"Will do Princeps." He telekinesis floats her over to the coffee table. he sets her down. I move Mint to an unoccupied armchair. Krizzy turns herself around to face Clint who is reading an archery magazine, "Hawkman. You are an archer yes?"
"Yes"
"Excellent. I have a bow I need to bind to someone for its' safety and mine. How do you feel about a new bow?"
"I like the one I have a lot, it suits me and I know its habits."
"I knew you would be a good choice Hawkman. Do you trust me?"
"Beth does and I trust Beth."
"Good enough." Krizzy shrugs. She draws a knife and cuts his hand, squeezing three drops of blood onto the bow in the case. She does the same to her hand and then poofs the illusion away. Both hands stop bleeding. Sep tells Clint, "Concentrate. Think of the perfect bow. What special abilities does it have? Concentrate."
Krizzy begins a chant and the bow glows purple and teal and then it looks just like Clint's current bow. He picks it up turns it over. Fires an arrow. It lodges in center of the target hanging on the wall up high in the perches and jungle gym kind of thing up there. Clint does something and the bow folds up in his hand. Satisfied, Krizzy grins, "Now that the bow is bound it will be safe. Also if you begin to notice any, uh, magical side effects tell Theo. Mint and I have to ghost and bereaved friend now."
Mint tries opening a portal but it collapses. She isn't strong enough right now. Neither is Krizzy, both women are tired from healing themselves so quickly and since no one else here is capable of portaling they are stuck here until they recover. Mint frowns and then cheers up gathering us into a circle on the floor, she intones "Let me tell you a story of old, in the ways of the ancient mages."
A hazy mist swirls on the ground, as she speaks, "For once, in the time of my ancestors long since departed, there lived a man and a woman in a castle on a hill."
The mist forms a small hill and a castle and a man and woman in the castle window. The mist forms the scenes she speaks, "Alas! strife overtook their kingdom for these were no mere mortals, the man and woman were indeed the King and Queen of the Mages. A wizard and a witch, they were slain by their enemies in the decade after the rendering of the enchantment that guards the Realms.
