An instant later the portal spits us out onto a soft patch of green. Everything is still fuzzy and I'm being propped up by Eliza and Loki. An arrow pierces Loki's ostentatious cape.

"Dude, you picked the wrong portal to jump, you're a wanted criminal here." Eliza laughs, "Lucky they gave you a warning shot, must want to put you on trial then. Salve! I am a member of House Aquae seeking medical assistance for my cousin. I need to speak with Krizzia Peregrine"

A green and brown and red blur falls out of a tree, "Quite the coincidence then that you should happen to teleportal right to Ceteria. You have brought a wanted criminal with. However, I have it on good word that the king will allow him a fair trial and consider not executing him if recent reports hold true."

"Very funny Luc, Beth isn't getting any better standing here."

"Ah, well, you would mistaken, she has already improved just since I arrived." Luc retorts. It's true everything is a bit clearer now and I feel less groggy and numb. I try to say so but my tongue still feels thick and puffy so it comes out garbled. Luc continues, "She was suffering from using magic too far away from a connection to Faery."

"She should have been okay, I had a pendant. "

"A pendant which you were drawing most of the energy from.  Since Fey rely on Faery to supply them strength for magic she has been slowly declining and an increase in distance from the main portal would have been enough to cause Halfling's Downfall. The symptoms of being to far from Faery are most common in halfings who have been magically awoken but departed, willingly or not, from Faery and wandered too far from a permanent portal and tried to call on magic. Simply being here should be enough to cure her. I recommend staying here for three days to recharge her fully."

"You make her sound like a battery."

"A what?"

"Nevermind. Where did you learn all this?"

"I met a pretty Fae girl, decided to read up on halflings. I am studying medicinal sciences so when I saw a book on common illnesses and ailments of all seven races... maybe I just wanted to be able to rescue my damsel if she was ever in distress." Luc blushes bright red against his pale, freckled skins, almost as bright a red as his hair, "I will need to restrain the criminal though."

Loki scoffs at him, "Let a mere mortal like yourself restrain me, I think not."

"Well, I offered." Luc shrugs. A blink of an eye and Luc fades away, seemingly reappearing behind Loki. Loki fades away and reappears in a different place. The two repeat this motion until Luc splits in two, then four. Loki reappears behind one of the Lucs. Luc, the real Luc, leaps down from a low tree branch tackling Loki. A brief tussle and the Luc is floating a trussed up Loki to the castle. I feel a lot better so I hobble to the castle using Eliza's arm for support.

"Salve amicas mei. I am ever so delighted to see you though it is a pity it must be under such unfortunate circumstances." The ayllarian ambassador greets us in my chambers.  Krizzy is wearing her usual, unadorned tunic and trousers with her blond hair in two braids over her ears, a bow and quiver slung across her back.

"Is it normal to be really sleepy?" I yawn, curling into a ball on my hammock. My eyes close.

"She will be fine." Krizzy reassures Eliza, pulling a blanket up to my chin. Then I fall asleep.

Krizzy POV:

After Beth is asleep Eliza and I talk to the king. I organize the trial for the slimy Asgardian. The Council is gathered, the ceremonial costumes found. An impartial jury is organized, the executioner readied, witnesses and scholars of the law are sought out. The Lord or Lady of each of the thirteen houses is wearing a cape and sash in their house color embroidered with their emblem seated in the left side box; the king in a dress tunic, cape, and his crown; his advisors gathered in the right side box with him; and the jury in the middle box. The top tiers of the room used for trials and festivals and such are filled with spectators. I sit to the right hand of my king, Luc on his left. Two high ranking military officials escort a bound Loki into a seat in the center of the room. A scholar stands to his left, another to his right. One argues for his guilt, the other his innocence, not innocence per say so much as ability to be redeemed.
