MARK'S POV.

Samantha  laughed derisively when I opened up. "I may be right, Mark but I think you should think about it. Ok?" she said, stroking my arm.

Her new house was very good, very beautiful. I didn't waste much time. I got into my car soon and sped back to the office. It always warmed my heart putting smiles on people's faces.

I called my cousin to inquire about something from her. After the call, I began to go through my phone.

I was surprised when I saw missed calls from Bella who I had saved her number with when Lizzy and I had minor problems some time ago.

There were sixteen missed calls. I wondered what must be amiss. I called back the number but she wasn't picking.

I was still angry at Lizzy, so I couldn't discuss anything with her at the moment. Maybe she was calling me to give her hypocrite sermon of Lizzy being a good woman.

There were also some calls from Susan and another strange number which must have probably been a burn phone.

I had no idea why they had all called me but I wasn't in the mood, at the moment, to call back anyone and question why they called. I was so tired and seemingly drained of everything. My mind drifted back to Lizzy and our child. A smile creased my lips at the thought of the child.

But Samantha 's words filtered back into my head almost immediately. I wondered how she would probably feel when I took the baby. That wasn't going to stop me though. I had made a decision and it was going to be final.

I made sure to look around my house once I got down from the car. The gardener was so serious on the flowers he was watering that he didn't notice me pass.

My mother was at the door, her face quite expressionless. She hugged as a greeting. I didn't like any of this. I felt guilty whenever she was happy for taking her advice. I returned an awkward hug and we went inside.

That was where she reminded me that the Gregories would be hosting another ball by the weekend.

"I'm sorry I won't be able to make it because I will be working with my judge in the meantime. Remember we are going to court this next week monday."

She sighed sadly and furrowed her face in a scowl. "So what do you expect him to say, he's gonna call you of course. Or are you pulling my legs"

"I am not pulling anyone's legs mum. I need some space to think, so please give me that space." I began to walk away after a sigh "Dad will surely call, and I am gonna tell him what I just told you, so don't take it personal"

"Good evening, son,"she followed me to my room and removed my suit. It felt like pleasant, old days again but our recent lapses didn't mean we were enemies, I was just skeptical of her. We kissed before she left. I picked my phone to call the gardener.

"Gabriel, hi. How are you doing?" Not waiting until he responded, I asked him to remember to take my mother's car to a car washer before six and that he should go meet her after he was done with the flowers and take the keys from her.

After that I felt like sleeping. I had had a really long day and my head was getting dizzy.

Yet I couldn't stop smiling as I remembered the smiles etched on the corner of Samantha 's lips when we had gone to see her new house. The sun was overhead and the earth lay, panting with heat.

I had to put on something freer else I would feel wet and sticky when I woke from sleep.

I was about to drift into sleep when my phone jolted me from sleep. I forced my eyes open and cursed. I reached for the damn thing only for the phone to fall from the bed. I snarled between clenched teeth.
