Narnia, 1000

The children's arrival was announced by a loud trumpet being blown by a creature Olivia assumed was a centaur, based on the descriptions told by her grandfather, a creature half-human and half-horse. But grandfather emphasised not confusing them with minotaurs, who were half-human and half-bull.

It was so much more delightful out there. It wasn't too hot, nor was it too cold. The sun shone brightly in the sky, gleaming at the children as if the sun welcomed them to the camp.

The sight was so pretty, with many magnificent flowers and the greenest grass Olivia had ever seen. They were all so enchanted with everything as they passed, laughing and admiring the fact of no more running.

A creature greeted Lucy and Olivia, one formed by the joint of flowers from the cherry blossoms in the shape of a human. Olivia remembered her grandfather telling her those were the nymphs; they seemed human but always had a detail to add, such as a pointy ear and a connection to one of Earth's elements.

Olivia and Lucy returned to be on track with the two eldest Pevensies. The nymph waved at them politely, and the two girls did the same. The nymph transformed into a simple joint of flowers in the wind again, running around Olivia and dispersing in the camp.

Peter couldn't stop smiling, his hand on the hilt of his sword and taking in everything around him. Susan was stoic; her mind simply couldn't wrap around the idea of everything going on. But there was no time to think logically, for one thing, was sure: her brother was in danger.

As they walked, the creatures would stop whatever they were doing to look at the four children passing by, all armed up and giggling, with the two youngest waving enthusiastically at everyone.

The creatures would join the children in their walk, forming a sort of parade to the end of the camp, everyone feeling an overjoyed sensation pass by.

"Why are they all staring at us?" Susan asked through her teeth, smile still intact on her face. She was a natural for the spotlight.

"Maybe they think you look funny." Lucy suggested with a laugh, contaminating Olivia and Peter with the same content giggle.

The creatures formed a half circle around the children and the giant tent of the camp, one they immediately assumed belonged to the famed Aslan. Next to the tent was one of the centaurs, who looked to be their leader.

When they stopped, Peter unsheathed his sword confidently, raising it and looking at the creature. He seemed rather sloppy at the action, but he was still in training.

"We have come to see Aslan." He declared, and the crowd murmured.

The centaur did not say a word, only looked to the tent on his side, and the children's gaze followed his. Before anybody could exit the tent, the creatures were already quick to bow down.
