"Legends need not concern themselves with something as small as happiness."
- Holly Black, The Wicked King

Narnia, 2318

"Poise!" Commanded Olivia. "Non-dominant hands on your backs."

Caspian and Edmund did as told. With broad smiles and a cheerful crew behind them, they merely awaited her signal so they could begin their duel. "Three steps back!" She commanded.

She moved her sword up and down, and Edmund didn't hesitate to charge first. The Just King missed the rush of adrenaline every time he fought, the comfortable way the blade seemed made for him. It was no wonder he was considered the best swordsman of all Narnia.

He forced Caspian backwards with intense swings, metal hitting metal as the crewmen tugged on the ropes and chanted, glad for some entertainment that didn't involve throwing another crew member on the sea.

The boy twisted and turned, dodging when Caspian tried swinging the sword over his head. He taunted the King momentarily, forcing himself to dodge repeatedly until Caspian grew tired enough for an easy win. When he noticed his friend's fatigue, Edmund returned with the attack.

Edmund landed his sword against Caspian's neck, and the King had his sword on the ground, hands raised in surrender.

"You've grown stronger, my friend," Caspian noted, patting Edmund on the back in a brotherly manner.

"Seems I have."

Edmund's eyes scanned the crowd for Olivia, who was clapping for him, leaning against the ship's railing. Drinian was about to yell for the crew to get back to work when Olivia stepped in, throwing her cane on the ground.

"And now, which one of you boys want to lose to me?" She asked with a smirk on her face, holding a sword Drinian had given her.

Caspian and Edmund looked at each other, Lucy appearing in sight from out of her room. The Telmarine smiled, and Edmund meekly shrugged. "I'll go next." Said the Pevensie.

The King stepped forward, and they moved to their respective positions. Edmund wasn't the only one who missed sparring, after all. The Just made the same commands as his wife had before, and their fight began, quickly moving to his sister's side.

As much as Olivia was very well trained with the spear, and that was her main focus, she was also very talented with the sword, just not as much. The girl began purposely stepping back, sliding in the wet deck and kicking Caspian's leg.

He kneeled, and Olivia placed the tip of her blade on the back of his neck. "You know, I love it when men kneel, but this might not be the appropriate time."
