"Never laugh at live dragons."
- J.R.R. Tolkien

Narnia, 1006

" A Dragon?! "

" Yes, a dragon. "

" But there haven't been dragons in Narnia for ages! "

" Well, but there are now! "

Peter groaned. The five Kings and Queens of Narnia found themselves in the western woods near the land of Archenland. Olivia gave Edmund instructions about her finding: a dragon in Narnia. There had been a long while since a dragon last stepped in Narnia.

" Great. How are we supposed to kill it? " Susan signed.

" Who said anything about killing it? " Lucy replied with a frown. " Maybe it is just passing by, or he is here to help us. Not all dragons are bad. "

" Have you met one before? " Susan asked.

" I am about to. "

Susan laughed. She never took Lucy seriously, still seeing her as a little girl with a bright imagination and wild hope. Not even now that Lucy was seventeen, she was taken seriously by her older sister. It was very infuriating, but the youngest chose not to show her frustration.

" Where is the dragon, anyway? " Edmund asked, looking around the field of the woods.

" Half an hour north. He is by the nymph trees, merely sitting down and looking at the view. "

" Well, it is a very nice view. " Peter nodded, earning a slap from Susan. He groaned and rubbed his now aching arm.

Olivia hit her cane on the ground, making a loud sound and catching the siblings' attention. " Enough. Are we going to go there or not? "

At the command of Olivia, the Kings and Queens of Narnia walked north, deeper into the woods. A light fog was coming up, so the monarchs could barely see their feet and were cautious about where they stepped.

With attentive eyes and ears, they all wielded their weapons as they sought the dragon. The Kings and Queens of Narnia couldn't allow a dragon in their lands, for they were not only known for causing fear, but they were also known for causing havoc in the places they went.

They searched and searched, and there was no sight of the dragon.

" Maybe he has fled? " Lucy suggested.

As the youngest's words came out of her mouth, a dark shadow towered over them five in the silhouette of the creature they had been searching for. Edmund hissed, shutting his eyes in a sign.

" It's the dragon, isn't it? "

" Run! "

The five monarchs started running, holding their weapons. Susan and Lucy tried shooting, but to no avail; the arrows touched the animal's skin and fell to the ground. His scales made it impossible for the weapons actually to hurt him.
