"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. "
- John WoodenNarnia, 1005
Narnia was at peace once again.
Their Queen, Olivia, had officially recovered. The injury caused by Gally was still marked on her body, shooting sharp points of pain up her body at random moments. But Olivia was the Warrior Queen, and pain would not stop her.
Edmund Pevensie was now constantly at her side, still disturbed by the scene of an impaled Olivia. The battle of Zartar brought him nightmares every night, where he would permanently lose Olivia and could not do anything about it.
The brave soldiers who had been frozen had been mysteriously unfrozen, and the Kings and Queens suspected it was due to Aslan, the lion. Still, they could not confirm such a theory because they had not personally seen the great cat.
The land of Zartar had been split into various Kingdoms, Garnoff and Bellon receiving 20% each, Calamari and Archenland receiving 10%. The rest had stayed for Narnia, who decided to give it's country back to it's people.
The Zartarians started a republic, but only after making a parade for Olivia for defeating the tyranny of the King and the Princess. They had named her the Duchess of Zartar, adding another title to her name.
Olivia found herself lying in her bed one morning, officially one year since the war. She was eighteen and started receiving marriage proposals from Kings and Princes from different Kingdoms now that she was of age.
The girl gently touched her lips, closing her eyes with a memory. His lips were soft against hers, gentle and harsh at the same time. It was like they both depended on it, an addiction, a drug.
She couldn't handle it. Edmund Pevensie was like a drug, and she needed more. One year without the taste of him, without his breath hitching against her skin and that need for more they felt for such a short period that felt like an eternity.
A knock came on the door, and Olivia grumbled. " Come in! " She said, without moving from her bed.
Lucy and Susan showed their heads, smirking. " Do you know what time it is? "
" Time to sleep? "
" Two in the afternoon. " Lucy responded.
" What! " Olivia sat up, pain shooting up from her body at the movement, making her hiss and lie back down.
Susan and Lucy both rushed inside the room, fumbling over Olivia's state and asking her if she was alright and if the injury was hurting more than it should. Olivia answered that she was fine, and the two girls helped her out of bed.
Recently, Olivia had been feeling useless. The entirety of the injury left her to resort to help, which frustrated her. She could not handle everybody constantly asking her if she was okay or in pain. If her ribs ached and if she wanted help to do the most ridiculous things.
