" Life begins on the other side of despair "
- Jean-Paul Sartre

Narnia, 1003

The news about the latest episode involving the three youngest Kings and Queens soon spread not only to Calormen but to all the Kingdoms in the region.  Soon, Lucy, Edmund and Olivia had earned quite the fame for their act.

Of course, that earned respect from some Kingdoms ( the main and most important ones, of course), but others were hesitant about Edmund since he already had a fame for being the "traitor" king, due to his earlier betrayal.

Peter had already repeated several times that the opinions of the Telmarines and the Calormenes did not matter, for the other Kingdoms with reasonable and intelligent rulers had truly respected the actions of the Western woods and said that it shouldn't have been done another way, since the Calormenes are at the due time to be put in their place.

Despite Peter's sayings, the young boy had been very on edge recently. Every time a few Diplomats came to Narnia, they would always fear Edmund, even if just a little bit. Of course, Olivia would try and cheer him up somehow, but she was absolutely terrible at that task.

The gossip would always eventually come to Edmund's knowledge, despite the attempts of his siblings and Olivia to hide them out.

As the weeks after the incident passed, Edmund would only get sadder and sadder. Peter tried taking Edmund on a short trip, which didn't work. Lucy tried taking her brother on a picnic, and it didn't work either. Susan tried taking her brother to a ball so he could show the people how pleasant he actually was, but it did not work, for Edmund was too scared to approach people.

Olivia had been thinking about the best way to cheer Edmund up, and Piple the Badger had one day given her the best idea while they made a picnic in the castle's gardens.

" See, the pixies stay slightly to the north of Lantern Waste. They are quite friendly, and their colours shine so brightly- and they can even change from blue to pink! It is truly magical. The legends say that the Pixies can know a person's most genuine desire simply by looking at them. "

For three days, Olivia had sneaked away from Cair Paravel every night to meet with the Pixies. Just like Piple the Badger had described, they were very much magical and enchanting. Their voices were like soft whispers echoing in a person's ears, they had pointy ears and small bodies, but they could fly!

All those three nights that Olivia had gone away to see the Pixies, she would always find comfort in their presence. The creatures were all very respectful to their Kings and Queens; just like all Narnians, the pixies were very loyal and faithful to Aslan and the monarchs. Olivia had hoped the day Edmund would meet the tiny creatures, he would find them as comforting as she did.

The fourth night of seeing the pixies came, and Olivia tiptoed away from the rooms of Cair Paravel, wearing a black cloak with a hood that covered her face, her spear and bag safely tucked on her side.
