"Speak softly and carry a big stick"
- Theodore Roosevelt

Narnia, 2315

Edmund grinned at his brother. Peter offered a smile back, and the boy unsheathed his sword.

Of course, the plan was for the dwarf to take it easy. They could easily see the dwarf was not taking them seriously, despite being the famed Kings and Queens of old that had saved Narnia various times.

Olivia poked Edmund and leaned to whisper something against his ear. The boy smirked and nodded his head. Peter offered his sword to the dwarf, and with some difficulty, he picked it up.

Edmund looked at Olivia and Peter smugly and returned his gaze to the dwarf. But the small one was smart, starting with a surprise attack and taking Edmund unprepared.

He followed Olivia's advice, at first pretending to be bad at swordsmanship and allowed the dwarf to get a vague sense of victory at first. The dwarf was ambitious and aimed for the head, but Edmund defended the blow with the blade of his sword.

The small one charged again, and Edmund dodged by going down, and then he jumped over the sword again. He was quick; Edmund had to give him that. The dwarf elbowed him in the face, making him stagger backwards.

" Edmund! " Lucy exclaimed, about to step towards her brother but was held back by Olivia, whose gaze never left the fight.

" He knows what he's doing. " She said, leaning her weight against her cane.

The dwarf chuckled mockingly. " You alright there? " And he swung again, not waiting for an answer.

But Edmund used the swing to his advantage and managed to circle him around, getting to his back and hitting his arse with the side of his blade with carefulness not to draw blood, earning a chuckle from the "audience".

He growled furiously and charged angrily. Edmund taunted him, playing in defence and revealing his true agility by dodging every blow. He used his blade and had his fun by making the dwarf look like a fool without even attacking.

Edmund used a strike, and their swords clashed, the King being stronger and making their blades circle in the air. As the dwarf's sword was to the ground, Edmund took his shot and began repeatedly hitting and charging, and the short one barely had time to defend himself.

It was hit after hit until the sword flew out of the dwarf's hand, and he gaped his mouth open; Edmund got in a final stance and pointed his blade at him.

Olivia moved to Edmund's side, wrapping her arm around his waist and kissing his cheek. " Somebody got his way back. " She giggled, and he leaned his head against hers.

" Beards and bedsteads! Maybe that horn worked after all. " He exclaimed, still trying to recover his breath.

" What horn? " Susan asked, stepping forward.
