"The best thing to hold onto in life is each other."
- Audrey Hepburn

Narnia, 2318.

In a silent agreement where they were not to mention what happened back in the cave, the four Kings and Queens got back to the boats. Caspian, hurrying to help his crew load the very few baskets of food they could find. Since the land was volcanic, almost nothing grew there. But they still managed to find some dry food, enough to compensate for about two days of voyage. It was better than nothing.

As the sun beamed in Olivia's face, her dress changed to a paper-white, simple-short-sleeved gown, adapting to the hot climate that made her sweat. As she and her husband hurried to help the crew, Lucy stopped in her tracks, her curious eyes scanning the landscape.

"Where's Eustace?" She asked with a frown.

"I suggest we leave him behind," Olivia chipped, helping Rhince to adjust the boat out of the sand and onto the waters, holding on to the ropes. Edmund used the back of his hand to stifle his laughter.

Reepicheep chuckled. "I believe he's out, not helping us load the boats."

But despite the air of amusement, Lucy insisted and called her cousin's name repeatedly. Edmund, hearing the growing fear in his sister's voice, volunteered to go find him, which Caspian and Olivia joined too.

And so, with a sense of dread pooling in the Warrior Queen's stomach, the trio parted again, faster on their feet than before. Making a clock in the sand with a stick she had found, Olivia calculated the time to be about four in the afternoon, urging them to hurry and find Eustace so they could leave before sundown.

It was like their steps seemed heavier with each passing moment of agony, calling for Eustace, with Edmund muttering some occasional indelicate wordings about his cousin. They walked and walked and walked, Olivia's legs growing tired while Caspian led the way undisturbed. She envied the Telmarine's stamina and disposition.

Going up a hill filled with rocks, their eyes widened when they came upon a tempting view of scattered gold glowing like the stars on a clear night. Olivia hadn't seen that much richness concentrated in a single place since she invaded the Terabinthian vault when the corruption crisis escalated in the Kingdom during the golden age ( but that is a story for later, which involves a good amount of sneaking around and some illegal things done by the Warrior Queen ).

"Treasure–"

"Trouble."

Seeing a familiar piece, Edmund quickly made a small jump, hurrying to the flaming lone shoe, maroon with silver laces. The one the Scrubb boy refused to take off his bloody feet. "Eustace," Edmund whispered, holding the piece in his hand.
