"A loving heart is the truest wisdom."
– Charles Dickens

England, 1941

Life was... boring.

Finchley was a place that seemed to be stuck in time; it had no news or any interesting thing happening. Olivia thought it was the dullest place one could live. Of course, she had only lived in two places, and those had been very agitating environments.

In the mansion with her grandfather, he always had a new story or a tale to talk about. There was always a prank to play on the Macready, an adventure or a challenge with Digory Kirke. Narnia was cheery, vibrant, magical. A place that never slept, with dances and balls and always a busy schedule.

In Finchley, all Olivia had to do was wake up and go to school. That was it. It had no adventure or tales or action, scenarios to play a part on.

And because of that, Olivia was determined to make her life more exciting. She decided to try out for after-school clubs, new social clicks, and in between others.

She and Susan passed for their school's swim team. Olivia and Edmund made a quaint group of friends, who were all so nice and sympathetic and book enthusiasts. Life suddenly was getting better and with more news. Her aunt even got a job promotion, raising her salary.

Her grades were very high ( she was a person who sought academic validation ), and friends surrounded her and always with the love of her life by her side. But something still seemed off.

Was it Narnia? It was definitely Narnia. She had lived there for fifteen years. She had grown, married, made friends and cared for an entire Kingdom. She won battles, wars, and got too attached. And now, everything seemed dull without the bubbly air of Narnia, without the dancing trees and the chirping of birds.

It was another regular Friday, where Olivia and Susan had to stay after hours to practise with the swim team. Edmund had to stay in school as well since he was a part of the math team with Lucy, and Peter had to stay for soccer tryouts. Adapting was hard, but they all had to try.

After a nice and cosy lunch with Edmund, Olivia headed for the school's pool as the boy had to go to the library.

As Olivia walked out of the cafeteria, Edmund pulled her by the arm and pressed a quick kiss to her lips. " After school, you want to go to the theatre? " He asked her with a silly smile.

Olivia kissed his cheek. " I would love to. "

At least Edmund was there. The Pevensies always made her laugh when needed, and honestly, in the end, moving to Finchley had been a good decision because if she stayed behind in the mansion, the girl would spend all day moping inside the wardrobe. While there, she had things to help her get distracted and the love of her life by her side.
