" You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."
– Mr Darcy, Pride and Prejudice

England, 1941

The starry night illuminated Finchley.

Olivia had been invited to sleep over at the Pevensie residence, where she could have pillow fights with Susan and Lucy and go to Edmund's room after.

The Pevensie boy was standing, leaning against the window as he solemnly looked at the moon. A million thoughts were on his mind, memories of Narnia and Cair Paravel roaming free and uncontrollably.

He missed the cheery air of the fauns, the way the castle never slept. He missed training with Oreius, going for rides in the Western Woods with Phillip. He missed being an adult, having the light weight of his wedding ring on his finger, his honeymoon in the beach house by the south of Narnia.

He wondered about Olivia, who, back in Narnia, was so much more serious, taking her role as a Queen. He knew she was suffering inside, missing the Kingdom, and it pained him that he could do nothing. He couldn't take her back to Narnia, despite all of his ways of trying.

It was still so vivid in his mind; the way Olivia stayed sad and mourning back the days they still had to spend in the professor's mansion after their return from Narnia. How she spent her time alone, in the library, reading books and letting her tears stain the pages.

It took a while to make her go back to normal; sarcastic, joking, charismatic and loving Olivia he married and cherished. At least she was now in Finchley; with them, she wouldn't have to go through this alone anymore.

He looked at his nightstand, and something clicked in his mind. The sound of the doorknob twisting pried him away from his depression, his heart twisting at the sight of those chestnut brown hair locks, those icy blue eyes peering at him, and that sweet and genuine smile for him.

" You alright? " Olivia asked. Edmund smiled in return.

" Better now. "

The girl chuckled, entering the room and closing the door behind her. " You were acting weird at dinner. " She pointed out, walking towards him with her hands crossed on her chest. " Oddly quiet. "

" I'm just thoughtful today, that's all. " He replied quietly, adjusting his hair.

Olivia signed; she knew exactly what thoughtful meant. The girl walked towards the window and stood by his side, supporting her arms as she looked at the sky.

" The moon is beautiful, isn't it? " She asked, almost in a whisper. Her voice flew together with the wind, moving the little white curtains of the room. The air hit her lightly, entrancing the girl as her hair flew.
