Narnia, 2315
The soldiers that had managed to somehow live, surrendered.
It seemed funny how near-death experiences brought people together, even earning a handshake between Caspian and Peter. Edmund and Olivia kissed each other in the middle of the battlefield, the Just dipping his wife like he had done in their wedding, kissing her tenderly as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
As they smiled, giggling at one another in a silly way, Reepicheep appeared by their side and signed. "I hope to one day find a love as strong as yours, your Majesties." Said Trufflehunter, a small smile making its way across his face.
"You will, my friend. Don't you worry." Olivia reassured him, giving Edmund a final kiss before nudging Susan's side and daring her to a swimming competition. Obviously, Susan won. There was no defeating Saint Finbar's sensational swim champion. But worth a try, though.
Soaking wet, the Kings and Queens got to the other side of the river, helping their soldiers as much as possible with the surrendering Telmarines as Aslan talked with Lucy.
The Great Golden Lion urged them forward once he was done; the five of them kneeled before his presence, the King of all Kings of Narnia, their observer and protector.
"Rise, Kings and Queens of Narnia." He spoke tenderly. Caspian still kneeled. "All of you."
The others looked at Caspian, waiting for him to stand. The Telmarine, for once, was at a loss of words. "I do not think I am ready." He stammered, not daring to look at Aslan's brave face just yet.
"It's for that very reason I know you are." He said, turning his head to Olivia with a smile. "And I trust that the Warrior Queen has trained you well."
She bowed once again, bringing her hand to her chest. A shot of pain went up her right ribs, and Olivia only clenched her jaw. The Lion roared, her cane appearing under her hand in a mere second. "Thank you, Aslan."
Caspian finally stood up, the ancient Kings and Queens nodding at him approvingly. The sound of bagpipes playing behind them made the royalties look over their shoulders, making way for the crew of mice to arrive in front of Aslan.
They held an improvised medical bed, which held an unconscious Reepicheep. Lucy gasped, hurrying towards him. She opened the lid of her healing cordial, a single drop of the liquid fell inside the mouse's mouth.
He gasped, standing up and coughing, regaining his senses. Olivia's hand flew to her chest, relieved she didn't lose anyone else during this battle. Reepicheep's eyes flew to Lucy, kneeling before her. "Thank you, your majesty. Thank you."
