Chapter 29

"Crucio!" Y/N shot a curse at Peter

He yelled out in pain.

"How could you?!" Y/N cried, "We all trusted you!"

"How are you here? And... younger?" Peter groaned

"You don't get to know anything!" Y/N strengthened the spell

There was a yell from upstairs and a thud on the floor. Peter dropped to the floor and Y/N ran upstairs. Voldemort was gone, Lily was dead on the floor, and a crying Harry. Y/N looked outside to see someone running from the house. Peter.

"I'll be back... soon." Y/N whispered to Harry before running out the house

They chased after Peter and ended up around a bunch of muggles. Sirius made his way over.

"Fuck you!" Y/N shot a non-verbal spell at Peter

Peter was shot into a wall. Someone ran behind Y/N. Sirius.

"Where have you been?!" Sirius pulled out his wand

"Doesn't matter." Y/N threw another non-verbal spell at Peter

Y/N continued to throw spells at Peter with Sirius' help. Sirius shot a spell at Peter and he vanished. All that was left was a finger.

"We need to go!" Y/N grabbed Sirius' arm

They pulled Sirius to Godric's Hollow. Sirius' motorbike was parked by the house. Hagrid was there with baby Harry in his arms.

"Pass me Harry. Please." Y/N pleaded with Hagrid

"Can't do that, Y/N. Dumbledore's orders." Hagrid shook his head

"Take my motorbike." Sirius sighed

"You can't be serious!" Y/N shook their head in disbelief

"I'm not serious. I'm Sirius." Sirius tried to fit a joke in

Hagrid took Sirius' motorbike and left. Sirius hugged Y/N tight. Y/N looked up at Godric's Hollow while tears spilt out of their eyes. The two could hear a ticking sound.

"What's that noise?" Sirius stood back

Y/N pulled out the time turner.

"I have to go." Y/N wiped their tears

"No! You can't!" Sirius held their shoulders

They disappeared and Sirius was left alone.

Y/N opened their eyes to see themselves in 12 Grimmauld place yet again. They let go of the time turner, it was attached to their neck so it didn't fall to the floor. Bill and Remus stood back and gave them space. Y/N wiped their eyes fully but they were still red from the crying.

"Y/N." Bill spoke, "What did you see?"

"Not only did I have to hear what happened. I just had to experience it. I hurt Peter!" Y/N cried, "I let Harry go!"

Remus stepped forward and hugged Y/N tight. They gripped the back of his shirt and cried into his shoulder.

"I could have done something else! But I didn't!" Y/N sobbed

"You didn't know what was going to happen. It's not your fault." Remus rubbed their back

"I want to go back. I want to try and change it again." Y/N stopped crying again

"Wouldn't that be too dangerous?" Bill asked

Y/N looked between the two boys.

"I don't care." Y/N held the time turner again, "I want to try."

Remus stood back and allowed Y/N to use the time turner. They were whizzed away.

Y/N opened their eyes to see they were in front of Godric's Hollow. They frantically knocked on the door.

"Hello?" Lily opened the door, "Y/N?"

She was holding baby Harry in her arms.

"Let me in! It's an emergency! Trust me!" Y/N jumbled their words up, "We don't have much time! Please!"

Lily allowed Y/N inside.

"I can't explain properly. Just know, you made a terrible choice with secret keeper." Y/N said

"What do you mean?" James stood up, "No one would suspect Peter."

"Not even you. He's with Voldemort." Y/N tried to explain

The couple found it hard to believe.

"I can help though. Lily, go upstairs with Harry. James, stay down here with me." Y/N pointed to the stairs for Lily and pointed to the floor for James

Lily walked upstairs with Harry in her arms. James stayed downstairs with Y/N.

"Can you explain any more?" James asked

"No." Y/N shook their head, "I can't loose you again."

There was a knock at the door. James opened it to be met with Voldemort. Y/N used a non-verbal spell to go invisible. They watched as Voldemort killed their brother once more. Voldemort walked upstairs and Peter stayed downstairs.

Y/N snuck up the stairs to see Voldemort pointing his wand at Lily. They went to stop Voldemort but they were too late. Lily's body fell to the floor after being hit with the killing curse.

"Hello, Tom. Remember me?" Y/N undid the invisibility spell

Voldemort turned around and pointed his wand at them.

"Avada Kardavra!" Y/N shot the killing curse at Voldemort

He disappeared into dust and Y/N ran to baby Harry. Baby Harry was crying in his crib. He had a lightning bolt scar on his forehead.

"It's ok, Harry. Auntie Y/N is here." Y/N knelt down to the crib

Harry seemed to smile slightly when looking up at Y/N. They lifted Harry up and held him in their arms right. Y/N began to cry quietly. A noise came from behind them.

"Y/N?"

"Severus?" Y/N turned around

Severus looked down at the floor. He saw all the rubble and Lily's body laying lifeless on the floor. Severus began to sob as he knelt down to Lily's body.

"I watched it happen. Twice." Y/N stood behind Severus, "I could have stopped it."

"Why didn't you?" Severus stood up

"What?"

"Why didn't you stop it! You just said you could have stopped it!" He yelled

Harry began to cry more at the noise.

"You need to leave, Severus." Y/N held Harry tight

Severus stormed out of the house. Y/N broke down on the floor. Hagrid walked in a few minutes later and asked to take Harry.

"It was bound to happen." Y/N passed Harry to him, "Keep him safe."
