Chapter 19

Y/N walked with Mcgonagall to the Whomping Willow. It was just after breakfast so everyone was awake. Everyone was going to their lessons except for Y/N and the quidditch teams.

"Can you explain please, Miss Potter?" McGonagall asked, "Why must you skip lessons for this?"

"Just a second."

Y/N touched a part of the tree and the two walked in. Professor McGonagall continued asking questions until they got to the shack.

"Remus!" Y/N yelled

Remus, future Remus, came into the room. McGonagall's eyes widened as she stepped closer and cupped his face.

"What happened Mr Lupin?" McGonagall asked

"Hello Minerva. You might want to sit down." He smiled weakly

The three of them sat down on the sofa and Remus started to explain.

"I'm from the future. I can't tell you much from it but Y/N needs to be there, having their school year there." Remus started, "I gave them a pollyjuice potion that makes them look how they were when they were younger. All they need is your support."

Mcgonagall stayed quiet.

"What's the plan for it?" She finally asked

"I've spoken to Molly and Arthur Weasley about them pretending to be their child for as long as they need. They said it was fine as long as there's approval form you." Remus said

"Do it." McGonagall nodded

Remus looked over at Y/N. They pulled out their time turner and stood up.

"Turn it the opposite way when it is time." Remus explained, "It will only work at twilight at a new moon, that is tonight, when you have the moonlight shining over the time turner."

Y/N nodded.

"Remember. Tonight at twilight." Remus reminded them

They walked out the room while Mcgonagall stayed there for a while to talk to Remus. Y/N walked to the quidditch pitch to see the Gryffindor and Slytherin teams. The teams were, practicing together?

Y/N sat to watch. Once the practice finished, Regulus came over and sat next to them. He pulled them into a hug.

"Why did you do it?" Y/N asked him

"It's stupid. Can you forgive me?" He mumbled

"Ok." They smiled, "Just don't do it again."

Regulus chuckled. He kissed their cheek as Sirius and James walked over.

"I see you two have resolved your issues." Sirius laughed as he sat down next to Y/N

James sat down next to Regulus.

"Hypothetically! If I ever leave without telling you, would you miss me?" Y/N asked

"Obviously!" James rolled his eyes, "Why wouldn't we?"

"Hypothetically. Where would you be going?" Sirius asked

Y/N shrugged.

"Just a hypothetical. If I don't get to say this in the end, goodbye." Y/N stood up

They walked into the school and to their next class, potions. The class started.

"Today. We will be making a pollyjuice potion!" Slughorn exclaimed

Many groans came from the class but Slughorn ignored it.

"Open your books to page 195 and work through the task." He continued to explain

The class was long. Severus finished first and Y/N finished second. He was always best in the class at potions but Y/N was always behind him.

Next was transfiguration. Mcgonagall was acting strange throughout the whole lesson but Y/N shrugged it off. Lily was top of the class but Y/N was behind her. Once the class ended, it was dinner.

They walked into the great hall. Mcgonagall made eye contact with them as they sat down then whispered something to Dumbledore, who nodded. Dumbledore stood up and started a speech as everyone came into the hall.

"I'd like to thank Professor Mcgonagall for giving me new information." He spoke, "I'd like to gift Y/N Potter 30points for their bravery and commitment. 20points to Sirius Black for defending people even if it means going against his friends; like I say, it takes a great deal to stand up to your enemies but a greater deal to stand up to your friends."

The Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables clapped while the Slytherin table groaned. He sat down and the feast began. Remus and Sirius sat either side of Y/N, not talking to each other. However, Peter and James kept talking.

"You two need to talk at some point." Y/N sighed

"I don't want to, Vix." Remus turned his head

A person outside caught Y/N's eye. It was future Remus. He was motioning for Y/N and Mcgonagall to come outside.

"I need to go." Y/N frantically stood up and walked out

The group looked at them confused. Y/N walked outside of the school and over to Remus. He stood in the forest next to the school.

"You can't just stand here! Someone could see you! What would you do then?" Y/N hissed

"It's nearly time. Mcgonagall wanted her and Dumbledore to see you off." He reminded them and ignored their question

They looked inside to see Mcgonagall and Dumbledore look over at them before leaving the hall. The two professors walked over to Y/N and Remus.

"So this is future Mr Remus Lupin?" Dumbledore asked, "I still have many questions."

"Yes, you can ask the questions later." Mcgonagall nodded

"It's time. Over here." Remus walked over to a clear area

All three of them followed him and Y/N stood in the middle.

"Drink part of the pollyjuice potion. If you run out, Molly will have more." Remus ordered

Y/N drank part of the potion and shrunk down. They were how they looked in their 1st year.

"Wind the time turner the opposite way, so you go into the future." Dumbledore spoke

Y/N turned the time turner.

"Good luck Miss Potter." Mcgonagall smiled

They were whizzed away.

"How long will you be here?" Dumbledore asked Remus

"I'll leave now." Remus pulled out a time turner

Mcgonagall stayed silent.

"I think you should thank Y/N in the future. They're the reason most of us are alive past 1998." Remus said before disappearing
