Y/N walked out the common room the next morning to see Tom in front of her.

"Hello, Tom. Do you need something?" She asked

"What are you doing up so early?" Tom asked, "It's three in the morning."

"I was just going to talk to some friends about something." Y/N smiled innocently, "It's very important."

"So important that you need to be up at three?" He asked

The two began to walk down the hall together.

"Yes. It's when less people are about." She explained

They both saw Harry, Ron and Hermione talking quietly.

"You should get going, Tom." Y/N said

He went to reply but she had walked over to the trio.

"Why are you talking to Tom Riddle?" Ron asked

"Isn't it obvious? I'm trying to get close to him so I can stop him." Y/N crossed her arms

"Why not just stop him?" Ron raised an eyebrow

"If I said to you: that scarf you're wearing looks ugly on you. What would you say?" Y/N sighed

"I'll tell them to shove off." Ron replied

"And if a friend says the scarf doesn't compliment your features?"

"I'd get rid of the scarf." Ron sighed

She nodded.

"You're going to use the new friendship against him." Hermione smiled

Harry was silent throughout all of this.

"Who's Euphemia and Fleamont?" Harry asked Y/N

"They're here?" Y/N smiled, "I thought they were at Hogwarts after Tom left."

"Who are they, Y/N?" Harry asked again

"My parents." She replied

Y/N sighed.

"Harry, your new last name is Planc. Ron, yours is Weaslebee. Hermione, you can keep Granger." Y/N decided, "Me and Regulus will have Grey."

"Why change our last name? Aren't they already in the school system?" Harry asked

"I had to tell Minnie them last night and that's just what I came out with." Y/N shrugged

She looked around and saw Tom heading to the library.

"I'll keep an eye on Tom. You guys make sure nothing gets in the way. And keep Regulus under control, he doesn't even want to hear the name 'Tom Riddle'." Y/N sighed

The golden trio nodded and Y/N walked into the library. Y/N followed Tom into the restricted section and watched him pick out a book on horcuruxes.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Y/N warned him

Tom turned around and smirked.

"Do you know what a Horcrux can do?" Tom asked

"Yes. And you don't want to go down that path." Y/N told him

"I'll become the greatest wizard of them all! Stronger than Dumbledore! Stronger than Grindelwald! Stronger than my great grandfather, Salazar, himself!" Tom laughed

Y/N sighed. She glared at him as she pulled out her wand.
