Chapter 41

Y/N, Ron, Harry and Hermione were walking out the school to go see Hagrid after hearing the news about BuckBeak. Instead, they saw Draco, his friends and Regulus spying on Hagrid.

"What did I tell you? Father said I can keep the hippogriff's head. I'll donate it to the Gryffindor's common room." They heard Draco say

They all walked over.

"Look who's here." Goyle stood back

"Ah! Come to see the show?" Draco asked

"You! You foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach!" Hermione pointed her wand at Draco

"Hermione, no!" Y/N stopped her, "He's not worth it."

Draco was quietly sobbing while his head was turned away from them. Hermione lowered her wand and stepped back, Y/N stayed in front of Draco. He began to laugh.

"You think it's funny?" Y/N raised an eyebrow

"Kinda." Draco laughed more

Y/N raised their fist and punched him square in his nose. Draco's head hit the stone wall behind him as he groaned in pain. His friends helped him get away.

"He's crazy." Regulus said beforehand walking off

The trio began to walk over to Hagrid while Y/N stood the for a moment.

"You comin'?" Harry asked them

"In a second." Y/N smiled

Once the trio had walked away, Y/N turned around.

"That's a terrible hiding spot." Y/N rolled their eyes

Y/N, Harry and Hermione poked their heads around the wall.

"Don't tell anyone." The other Y/N whispered

They nodded and began to walk to Hagrid's hut. The four of them had to leave Hagrid's hut after a while because the executioner was walking over. They quickly snuck away and watched the execution take place from afar.

"He didn't deserve that." Y/N shook their head

Scabbers bit Ron's finger and ran off.

"He bit me!" Ron gasped, "Scabbers!"

Ron went to chase far Scabbers. Y/N was faster and ran off to where Scabbers was.

"Ron. Ron!" Hermione tried to stop him

They handed Scabbers back to Ron.

"Ron." Y/N looked up, "You need to go."

"Why?" Ron asked

All Y/N knew, was that it was a full moon. A black dog ran past Hermione and Harry. It looked up at Y/N before grabbing Ron's leg and dragging him through the Whomping Willow.

"Ron!" Y/N chased after him

Y/N managed to get under the tree but Harry and Hermione didn't.

"Go after him. We'll find a way to get in." Harry told them

They nodded and ran through the tree.

"Padfoot!" Y/N called out, "Ron!"

Hermione and Harry appeared behind Y/N.

"I think they're upstairs." Y/N walked up the stairs

The two followed them. Once they made it up the stairs, they saw Ron sitting down on a sofa.

"Ron!" Harry saw him

Hermione and Harry ran to Ron while Y/N stayed by the door.

"The dog, where is it?" Harry asked

"Harry, it's a trap. He's the dog. He's an Animagus." Ron pointed to the door

"Thats Y/N." Harry looked over

Y/N stepped into the room as the door closed.

"You had to pick tonight." Y/N sighed, "Didn't you?"

"It'll all be over soon, as long as he dies." Sirius stepped forward

"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" Hermione stepped in the way

"No, only one will die tonight." Y/N smirked

"Then it'll be you!" Harry threw himself at Sirius

Harry grabbed his godfather by the throat and pinned him to the floor. He pulled out his wand and pointed it at Sirius' head.

"You traitor, Y/N!" Hermione pointed her wand at Y/N, "You knew all along!"

"You don't understand!" Y/N stumbled back

Sirius laughed.

"Are you doing to kill me, Harry?" Sirius asked

Remus barged through the door with Regulus behind him.

"Expelliarmus!" Regulus shot a spell at Harry

Harry stood back up and walked over to Hermione.

"Well, well, Sirius. Looking rather ragged, aren't we?" Remus played into the bit

"Finally, the flesh reflects the madness within." Regulus stood by Y/N's side

"Well, you would know all about the madness within, wouldn't you? You're even teaching Y/N." Sirius chuckled

Y/N's eyes widened. Remus smiled slightly then lowered his wand before helping his boyfriend off the floor and hugging him.

"We found him!" Sirius stood back

"I know." Remus said

"It's him!" Sirius smiled

"We understand." Y/N rolled their eyes

"Let's kill him!" He looked over at Y/N

"No! I trusted you!" Hermione cried, "And all this time, you've been his friend!"

"You've been exposed, Moons." Y/N cooed

"He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes. Y/N already knows and that's why they have a book on Lycanthropy!" Hermione told Harry and Ron

"You went through my things!" Y/N yelled

"How long have you known that much?" Remus asked

"Since Professor Snape set the essay." Hermione said

"I told you, she's the brightest witch of her age. Other than Lily, that is." Y/N tapped their wand on their hand

Sirius began to get fed up with all of it.

"Enough talk, Remus! Come on, let's kill him, Y/N!" Sirius cried

"You think that because I've cursed him that I can kill him?" Y/N asked, "I've used the Cruciatus curse on him twice! You've had the Cruciatus curse used on you more times than I can count!"

"Wait!" Remus told the two

"He did his waiting!" Y/N yelled, "12years of it! In Azkaban!"

Remus knew he was correct. He looked over at Harry before handing his wand to Sirius. Y/N pointed their wand at the group.

"Wait. Harry has the reason to know why." Remus stopped them

"I know why." Harry spoke up, "You betrayed my parents. You're the reason they're dead."

"No, it wasn't him." Y/N shook their head

"Somebody did betray your parents but it was somebody who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead!" Remus said
