Is it love? [Regulus x Reader]

Chapter 7

I found myself back in my bed with everyone asleep so I decided to get ready early. Putting my robes on, I saw the scar on my arm. Just touching it with my bare hand made the memories flood back in and I hated it. When I walked downstairs I saw James already up, dressed and sitting on the sofa.

"Hey James." I smiled and sat down next to him

"Hey Y/N." He rested his head on my shoulder

"What's wrong?" I looked down at him

"Tired." He mumbled as he closed his eyes

I smiled at him before talking.

"We need to get up." I spoke

"No." He dug his face into my shoulder

Lily suddenly walked down and was dressed. My eyes locked onto hers as I smirked.

"James." I whispered, "It's your girlfriend."

"I don't have a girlfriend send an owl to my therapist." He whispered back

"It's Lily." I smiled while still whispering

"I'll send the owl my therapist." His head shot up as Lily sat down next to him

I smiled  and left the common room. My head started aching when I reached the great hall. Barely anyone was there. Regulus was sitting on the slytherin table just in front of me. I walked over to him with a small smile on my face.

"Hey. What time are we doing the Homework at?" I asked

"Room of requirements. Lunch and after all classes." He speaks

"Ok." I go and sit back down

The others walked into the common room. I got a strange feeling that somebody was watching me and I saw that it was Regulus. He was staring right at me without doing anything. I decided to get up and head to class early. My first class was transfiguration so I could relax. Once I got into the class I saw Professor Mcgonagall sitting at her desk in her cat form.

"It's a bit too early for class miss Potter." She transformed back

"Sorry Professor." I sigh

"What's wrong?" She walks up to me, "Is it boys again? Is your brother causing a disturbance? What prank did he pull with mr Black now?"

Professor Mcgonagall had always been like another mother to me while I was at Hogwarts. She always knew what to do when I needed her.

"I think I like someone." I start, "They're from slytherin, James and Sirius hate them."

"Before you talk to Mr Potter and Mr Black talk to the boy. Or girl." She smirks at the last part

"Professor!" I laugh

"Take a seat." She smiles and points to my desk chair

We sit down and don't say anything for a bit.

"Are you having any animagus trouble?" She asks while pouring some tea

"No. Although there is this reoccurring dream when I transform after a long period of time." I take the tea

"What happens in it?" She looks me in the eyes

"All the people that I care about standing around me and step forward to say something I hate about myself. And it's always different things that they say." A single tear falls down my face

Before I knew it Professor Mcgonagall had hugged me tight.

"Lesson is starting soon." She lets go, "Finish your tea and get ready."

Suddenly, James ran in and stood behind me. He placed his hands on my shoulders and then looked at Professor Mcgonagall.

"Hello Mr Potter." She frowned

"Hello Professor. May I talk to my sister?" He smiled

"Fine. Just get it over with. You need to get to class still." He sighed

A smile spread it's way across Jame's face as he brought his mouth to my ear.

"We're pulling a prank on Regulus." He spoke, "It's gonna happen when you have your hall monitoring thing."

Before I could respond, James had already ran off. The rest of the class was walking in and they all sat down. Annoyingly, I sat next to Regulus. He wasn't the worst but he was still kinda annoying.

"We have to patrol tonight." Regulus tried to remind me

"I know." I sighed

Class started as usual and we were learning about animagus forms.

"Can anyone tell me anything about turning into an animagus?" Mcgonagall asked the class

My hand shot up.

"Anyone other than Y/N?" She asked

Barty cautiously raised his hand.

"Yes." She smiled

"You can reveal an animagus with a spell."

"Correct."

Regulus mumbled something and then wrote something down in a small book.

"What's in the book Black?" I leaned over slightly

"I was thinking." He started, "The two animals the other night. On our last patrol. A stag and a rat came and saved you."

"Yeah." I cautiously answered

"Perhaps they're animagi."

My eyes widened with horror. We didn't talk for the rest of the lesson. I tried to avoid Regulus but he was in every class. His words repeated over and over again inside my brain.

'Perhaps they're animagi.'

Before I knew it, it was the evening and I had to patrol. Remus was coming with us so there was no built up tension like last time.
