Chapter 17

Remus and Y/N stayed in the hospital wing for the next day. No one else was in there except for Madam Pomfrey and occasionally Professor Mcgonagall. Y/N held the black book in their hand. It had started the whole thing. Something was stopping them from letting it go though.

"What's that Vix?" Remus looked at the book

"Just a diary." Y/N half lied

"There's nothing in it." Remus spoke

"Invisible ink." Now Y/N was actually lying

He shrugged it off and went back to the book he was reading. Regulus walked into the hospital wing with Barty behind him. He sat down on Y/N's bed. This all caught Remus' attention.

"Hey Reg." Y/N put the diary down and held his hand

"How are you?" Regulus asked, "Snape is spreading rumors about you Lupin." He looked over at Remus, "No one believes him though."

"Snape is an idiot anyway." Barty jokingly said whilst rolling his eyes

Y/N chuckled. Pomfrey walked over.

"How do you feel Y/N?" Pomfrey asked

"After yesterday? A splitting headache." Y/N groaned

"Well." She took a deep breath, "Your visiting time is over."

The two Slytherin boys stood up and left the wing.

"Remus, you're free to leave." Pomfrey smiled

Remus smiled back and stood up. He said goodbye to Y/N and left the wing. Y/N was now alone with Madam Pomfrey and their thoughts.

Y/N's mind:

"Can we leave yet?" Tom asked

"No." Y/N spoke

Mcgonagall walked over to Y/N. She laid her hand out.

"The diary."

"What?" Y/N stuttered

Mcgonagall sat down on the end of the bed.

"Tom Riddle's diary. That's how he controlled you." She explained

Y/N handed Mcgonagall the diary.

"You can leave the hospital wing now." Mcgonagall stood up and walked out

They sat die a minute before getting up and leaving. Y/N said goodbye to Pomfrey and left to go to the great hall for dinner. Everyone stared as Y/N entered the hall. They sat down next to Sirius and began eating. There was a strange tension between everyone.

"Ok, what is going on?" Y/N our down their cutlery

Remus stood up and left the great hall.

"Ask Black." James walked out as well

Peter looked at Y/N, then at the door before leaving. Sirius had a guilty look on his face.

"What did you do?" Y/N asked

"It's all my fault Y/N." He cried, "The prank. I told Severus how or get into the Whomping Willow. It's all my fault!"

"You did what?!" Y/N yelled

The whole hall went silent.

"You did what?" Y/N whispered this time

"I know. I know." He calmed them down

"Let's go somewhere more private." Y/N stood up

Y/N walked out of the great hall with Sirius behind them. The two arrived at the Gryffindor common room. Remus, James, and Peter sat in the common room.

"Moony, I-" Sirius started

"Don't even speak to me, Black!" Remus yelled before walking into his dorm room

"You Fucked up, Sirius. You're just like your family." James said before following Remus

Peter just sat there in silence.

"Let's go to my dorm room Sirius." Y/N pulled Sirius up the stairs

Y/N closed the door behind them and they both sat down on Y/N's bed.

"I Fucked up." Sirius cried

"You did." They sighed

"Not helping!"

"Sorry." They apologised

The two sat in silence. Sirius rested his head on Y/N shoulder.

"What do I do?" He asked

"Remus will come around." They patted him on the back

"Can you talk to him? Please?" Sirius pleaded

"Sure."

Y/N stood up and walked out of the room. They entered the room and saw the three boys sitting down.

"I know you're angry at Sirius." Y/N started

"Of course I am!" Remus interrupted, "He exposed me to Severus!"

"He never meant for this to happen!" Y/N defended Sirius, "It was meant to be a harmless prank."

"That 'harmless prank' wasn't 'harmless'!" He yelled

"James, Peter. Out. Get out the room." Y/N ordered

James and Peter left the room. Y/N sat down next to Remus and held his hand tight.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Y/N drew circles with their finger on Remus' hand

"I hate him!"

"Anything else?"

"But I still love him. I want to be there with him but I can't." He admitted, "I just need a break."

"You'll need to talk to him soon but take the break you need." Y/N tapped his hand and stood up

They walked out of the room and went to their room. Sirius sat with Lily, Mary and Marlene. Lily, Mary and Marlene sat on Mary's bed. Sirius sat on Y/N's bed.

"Give him some space." Y/N sat down

"I'll go talk to James." Lily walked out the room

Now it was just Y/N, Sirius, Mary and Marlene.

"If only I could go back in time and change all this." Sirius groaned

Marlene looked over at Y/N with a knowing look.

"No." Y/N stopped her

"It could work!" She wined

"It's broken!"

"Oh! Please do it Y/N!" Mary pleaded

Y/N sighed and stood up. They walked to their bedside table and crouched down. Sirius watched closely as Y/N pulled out a box from under the bedside table. The box was a dirty brown with a silver lining and red ribbon to hold it shut. Y/N opened it and pulled out a broken time turner.

"Use reparo." Sirius suggested

"It's not that simple. I don't think..." Marlene spoke

They placed the time turner on their bed. Sirius got off the bed and stayed standing. Y/N stepped back and pulled out their wand.

"Reparo." Y/N shot the spell at it

A few cracks disappeared.

Sirius pulled out his wand.

"Reparo." Sirius and Y/N shot the spell

Even more cracks disappeared.
