Epilogue

We reached another ending! This is the third story I finished this year 2023 and thank you for the support! For being with Lara and Leisarus, for staying with them until they reached the end. Also, thank you to my beloved friend, Lara May Novales for letting me use your name and I hope you'll find your own Leisarus Vincent in the future. I love you!

I watch my parents' love as I grew up. The feeling of seeing them being deeply in love with each other every passing day fascinates me. My Ate Vanessa would squeal in delight and loudly wish for her to have a relationship like our parents someday. Shw wish to find a guy who woukd cherish her like how Papa Victorious cherish Mama Leisheen.

They thought only Ate Vanessa wishes something like that. I do too. Hiniling ko rin nang palihim na sana makatagpo ako ng babaeng mamahalin ako at mamahalin ko nang totoo at buong-buo. Hiniling ko na sana maging masaya rin ako balang-araw kasama ang nakatadhana para sa akin.

Then, that day came. I was in Junior High School, incoming Grade 10 student and I met her. I met Lara May Novales.

I was busy reading a book when she came inside the class and I noticed her looking around with a hesiatant look. Mukhang gustong makipag-usap para magtanong ng upuan pero, nahihiya.

I sighed to myself. Napaka-observant mo naman, Leisarus. Akala ko ba abala ka sa pagbabasa mo?

I cleared my throat and raised my hand.

"Excuse me," I called. "Walang nakaupo dito," sabi ko at tinuro ang bakanteng upuan sa tabi ko.

She stilled but, when our teacher came, she started walking towards my direction. Naupo siya sa tabi ko at natahimik. Hindi rin nagtagal ay nagsimula ang hindi mawala-walang introduce yourself dahil first day ng schoolyear.

Nang matapos kong magsalita, bumalik ako sa upuan ko at bumulong sa kaniya.

"Good luck."

I watched her as she introduced herself in front. She has visible curls on her hair. Hindi ko alam kung natural 'yon o hindi pero, bumagay sa kaniya ang istilo ng buhok niya. Her eyes are round and soft-looking, she has a cute pointed nose, a chubby adorable cheeks and pinkish lips. I must say, she's a very adorable girl.

I cleared my throat when I caught myself deeply observing her. Focus, Sarus. You must stay focus.

The universe was siding with me because they let me be friends with Lara. Hindi lang basta friends, bestfriends pa. Hindi ko rin inasahan na magiging close kami sa mismong araw na una kaming nagkakilala.

"Talaga, anak? May kaibigan ka nang babae?" tanong ni Mama Sheen habang kumakain kami ng hapunan. Kakatapos ko lang magkwento sa kanila na may bago na akong kaibigan.

I munched on my food and nodded, not speaking because I might get scolded if I speak while chewing food.

Papa laughed and patted my back. "Sa wakas, may naipakilala na ring babae sa amin," sabi niya at kinindatan ako. Natawa naman ako at kumindat pabalik sa tatay ko na nakipag-high five pa.

"Sa wakas, nagbanggit ka rin ng babaeng pangalan, Sarus my bro!" my sister commented. Kumunot ang noo ko dahil hindi ko maintindihan ang ibig niyang sabihin. She chuckled and placed down her utensils.

"Sorry, bro pero, akala ko kasi ano... bading ka tapos, allergic ka sa mga babae. Peace," I glared at my sister making her gulp and lower her head, quickly stuffing foods on her mouth.

Lara met my family and it warms my heart seeing them so close. My family welcomed her as if another part of our family and Lara's parents did the same for me. They asked me to look after Lara in school and I pledged to do so.
