Matheus had a very difficult childhood, his mother left him when he was only three years old and he stayed with his father, who treated him coldly, as he was a man who did not have many feelings. He saw displays of affection as if they were a weakness and Matheus grew helpless.
He did everything to get his father's attention with surprises, hugging him, holding his tail, biting his face and even howling when he saw the full moon. No matter what he did, Leonardo rarely showed him affection. Matheus would not be an ideal son for Leonardo, the ideal son had left four months before his wife left them. It was a cub that was born prematurely, it was destined not to live long.
Leonardo's indifference to Matheus was such that some of his friends didn't even know he was their son. Why this rejection? Was it because he looked like a hyena or hurt by the wife who left them? These were questions that Matheus would never know the answer to.
One of the times that Leonardo showed some affection for him was on a full moon night when the two were close to a forest. Leonardo started howling at the moon and Matheus howled as well as he did.
Leonardo laughed and rubbed his head with his hand, that was one of the best memories that Matheus kept for himself, once again the father argued with his family for rejecting his son, that was one of the only times he saw his father sad even crying.
That day, Matheus tried to hug him, but this time it was different. Leonardo took him as his son and Matheus hugged him, crying and wishing that moment would last forever. Hiding in his room, Matheus cried while remembering the day his father was proud of him and would like that to happen again.
Matheus grew up alone, insecure and in the shadow of his father, who was the person he sought to imitate and begged for his attention, love and affection.
He didn't know his relatives, on his mother's side, and he didn't have much contact with his relatives on his father's side. There were rare occasions when they saw each other, but they only showed indifference to his hyena-like appearance. He was not accepted, he stayed there without talking to them several times because he was rejected. It was common when his cousins had a birthday or when they went out to have fun, not to invite him.
One of the memories that hurt the most in Matheus was a Christmas in 2007. That day, Leonardo was traveling and Matheus stayed at his grandmother's house, there all his cousins got gifts, except for him, they still went to a little party, but he didn't had been invited. On New Year's Eve, the same thing, he heard everyone celebrating while he was locked in his room, crying
in the dark, with no one remembering that he wasn't there. When he turned seven, he had a birthday party and invited his friends and cousins, but no one came and he was left crying at the front door.
