Trying to fit in

It had been almost two months since Matheus had seen Lucas, he didn't know what had happened to his friend since the school had caught fire, the two lost contact. Matheus saw Ryan and Lucas friends quite often, but after the fight he had with the raccoon, Matheus preferred to stay away, not exchanging any words with Ryan.

Matheus father warned him to stay far away from Lucas, but Matheus still disobeyed his father a few times and went to Lucas house to look for him, but no one responded, Matheus sent messages to Lucas a few times, but Lucas took a long time to respond and gave incomplete answers, not saying where he was and never extending the conversation much.

Matheus was lying in bed bored while looking at some photos that he, Ryan and Lucas had taken together, afraid of his father Matheus hid them in a secret folder and as he looked at them he felt nostalgic as if those photos were part of a distant past, it was a feeling that hurt him, three months ago the three of them were together and now they were separated.

- I would give anything to go back in time! - Matheus thought while seeing the photo that he, Ryan and Lucas took together lying on the grass.

Ryan had such an infectious smile in one of the photos that Matheus thought he would hug him if he could go back in time, even though he didn't really like the raccoon's face much.

- I have never been so happy in my entire life! - Matheus thought as he imagined himself hugging Lucas, it was a pleasant feeling to imagine hugging his friend whose fur was soft, warm and fragrant.

Juliana was taking a shower in the bathroom and it was possible to smell the soap she was using, it was also the same brand that Lucas used and Matheus noticed this remembering the time he, Lucas and Ryan were taking a shower in that same bathtub together.

Matheus got lost in thought and didn't notice when his father appeared at the door of his room.

- Matheus! - Said Leonardo.

Matheus was startled, waking up from his waking dream and seeing his father in front of him.

Matheus quickly got out of the hidden folder containing the photos that he, Ryan and Matheus had taken together.

- Hi Dad! - Said Matheus suspiciously.

- Get up, I'll take you somewhere. - Said Leonardo.

- Where? - Matheus asked curiously.

Leonardo didn't respond and just left, Matheus soon understood what his father wanted to do and decided to obey orders because Leonardo didn't like being questioned.

- Before you get dressed, go take a shower and brush your teeth, you look like a dirty hyena - Said Leonardo, offending his son.

Matheus hadn't been feeling up to doing much of anything for days, not even brushing his teeth or cleaning his hair. Lucas disappearance had left him in deep sadness.

Matheus went to the bathroom and before getting into the shower he looked in the mirror and his face was horrible, he looked tired and bored.

He got into the shower and turned on the tap and felt all that cold water awaken his body, making all that lack of energy go away.

Matheus spent five minutes in the shower waiting for the cold water to wake him up from all that lack of energy, while his father waited for him sitting on the sofa.

- Will it take long? - The father asked, knocking on the bathroom door, already in a hurry.

- I'm leaving now! - Matheus said, turning off the shower and wrapping the towel around his waist.
