In the morning, Wei (Y/n) enjoyed a nice breakfast and then prepared herself to depart. Lan Xichen, ever courteous, arrived to bid her farewell. As they neared the gate, she turned to him, gracefully bowing. "Many thanks to the Sect Leader for agreeing to assist us and for the warm hospitality I have received during my stay here," she spoke softly, expressing her gratitude.

Lan Xichen smiled kindly. "It's my pleasure, Lady Wei. Please accept this," he said, offering her a signature Gusu Lan flare. "When you find yourself in need of help, simply fire this signal, and we will come to your aid as swiftly as possible."

Wei (Y/n) accepted the flare with a grateful nod, tucking it safely into her hanfu sleeve. She bowed once again, and Lan Xichen returned the gesture with a respectful bow of his own. With their exchange complete, she bid farewell to Cloud Recesses, embarking on her journey back to Lotus Cove. The path ahead held both anticipation and uncertainty, but she was determined to face whatever challenges lay ahead with courage and resilience.

As Wei (Y/n) arrived at Lotus Cove, dusk had settled over the landscape. Approaching the gates, she noticed that the guards didn't stop her this time, but instead greeted her with polite bows. She nodded to them as she made her way inside. Considering the situation, she decided it would be best to greet Uncle and Madam Yu first. However, upon reaching their residence, Wei (Y/n) was taken aback to find only Madam Yu present.

She approached Madam Yu and offered a respectful greeting, but the frown on Madam Yu's face immediately signaled her displeasure. "Where did you go?" she questioned with an edge of anger. "A-Li informed me that you had ventured somewhere, but he had no knowledge of your whereabouts. Where were you?" The tension in her voice was detectable.

Wei (Y/n) paused, carefully choosing her words. "Forgive me, Madam Yu," she began. "I kept the details of my plans hidden from Shijie as they were known only to us. I went to meet with the ally I mentioned." She hoped her explanation would appease Madam Yu's anger.

Madam Yu nodded, her anger slowly subsiding. "You must be exhausted. Go and rest," she instructed, her tone softening. "I will send someone to summon you for dinner." Wei (Y/n) acknowledged the instruction with a nod, bowing respectfully before taking her leave.

As Wei (Y/n) neared her quarters, she heard laughter in the distance. She knew Wei Ying must have pulled one of his pranks on Jiang Cheng or some juniors again. Shaking her head with a small smile, she decided to join in on the fun. She approached them and playfully asked, "What did you do this time, Wei Ying?"

Wei Ying, caught off guard as his back was turned towards her, swiftly turned around. When he realized it was his sister, he couldn't contain his excitement and enveloped her in a tight hug. "You're back! Where were you??" he exclaimed, squeezing her tightly.

Gasping for air, Wei (Y/n) managed to utter, "Can't... breathe..." Wei Ying immediately released her, apologizing with a smile. She straightened her clothes and greeted Jiang Cheng, who was observing the reunion.

"I had to take care of some matters," Wei (Y/n) replied when Wei Ying inquired about her absence. He persisted, "What kind of matters?"

"Not your concern," she retorted playfully. Turning her attention to both of them, she asked, "By the way, where are Shijie and Uncle Jiang?"

"A-Jie went with father to Lanling," Jiang Cheng answered, and Wei (Y/n) nodded in understanding. Sensing the approaching dinner time, she suggested, "I better get ready for dinner. Both of you should too."

After enjoying their meal, Wei (Y/n) decided against going to sleep. Instead, she chose to meditate, knowing that she would have to fight sooner or later. She was determined to keep her spiritual energy at its peak, ready to face any challenges that may lie ahead.
