Lan Xichen hurried back as soon as he was done. His son was safely sleeping in his arms. He was worried for his wife. After all, she hadn't gotten sick after waking up. When he reached Gusu, the sun had already set, and the sky was covered in hues of pink and orange. Just as he entered the gate, he saw the Elder healer.

"Elder Yin." He greeted the female with a polite smile and a bow. "Sect Leader. Visit to Qinghe?" She asked with a smile when she noticed Lan Zhixin sleeping in his arms and picked up her basket full of herbs.

"Yes. Did A-(Y/n) visit you today?" He asked her, and she chuckled and nodded, "She did." She was slightly amused when he quickly questioned again. "Is she fine?" He asked anxiously, and the older female nodded yet again.

"She is quite well... I'd say more than well." She smiled, leaving the news up to the female in question. Lan Xichen was confused but did not ask again, bidding her a pleasant night as he headed to his shared room with Wei (Y/n). When he entered the room, he caught sight of the female sleeping, her head resting on the table supported by her arms. An opened book left forgotten next to her.

He let a small sigh out and walked up to the crib, gently laying down his son. After he made sure he was asleep, he walked up to his wife. He sat next to her and gently traced her cheek, whispering to wake her up. "A-(Y/n)... My Love..."

She stirred and opened her eyes. "A-Huan...you are back..." A little smile came on her lips and she sat up. "You're finally back...I was..." She yawned softly and covered her mouth. ".... waiting for..you."

"I can tell. You should've slept." He said softly and cupped her face wiping the few tears that appeared when she yawned. "But I had such incredible news to share I couldn't sleep." She smiled placing a hand on top of his.

"Really?" He was a little surprised, what was it that his wife didn't rest and wanted him to know as soon as he returned home? "What is it?" He asked, looking into her eyes.

A happy smile came on her face and she held his hands bringing them down to rest on her stomach but Lan Xichen was still confused. He searched her eyes for an answer.

She sighed fondly and looked down at where his hands rested on her belly. Lan Xichen followed her gaze this time and looked at their hands for a few moments.

It looked like he was processing and then looked up, looking into her eyes as of asking a question. With a low chuckle and nod from her he gasped. "Really??" he asked with a bright smile and she nodded again.

"...Yes... A-Huan... you'll become a father again." She said softly with a few tears in her eyes and he smiled brightly immediately kissing her.

"...Thank...you so much..." He whispered wiping away the tears from her cheeks.

She smiled and looked at him, "..Our family will be complete." She said softly and he nodded, then stood up.

"Hurry... If this was the case why were you sitting like that?? Take care of yourself A-(Y/n)..." He scolded and helped her up taking her to the bed.

"Did you eat? Oh no.. you don't eat without me... I'll bring out dinner here.." he said and kissed her head as he fixed the cover on her. "Rest here."

He rushed out. She chuckled at his actions. Oh, it was going to be a long nine months and she couldn't wait. She knew her husband would be very careful and fuss over her every second of the day and she was ready for it.

The last time, she remembered every little thing Lan Xichen did for her, every little gesture. And she knew... he will treasure every moment like it was happening the first time. A soft smile came on her lips and she closed her eyes for a moment.
