Chapter: 40

Wei (Y/n) was taken to the market even with her protesting Jiang Yanli ignored her giving the reason that 'You have to look perfect in front of your Fiance.' Wei (Y/n) went along when Madame Yu agreed to what Jiang Yanli had said. 

Wei (Y/n) stood on the side as her sister looked around the shop for a perfect Hanfu nor her. "A-(Y/n)! Look around don't stand like that." Yanli smiled at her and encouraged her. She sighed and nodded to her older sister and began to look around. Now that she was here she could find something nice to wear for Lan Huan. 

Her eyes caught sight of a white Hanfu with some blue and silver details. She smiled and went near it touching the cloth softly. "Ah! An excellent choice Miss! This is our finest one yet made of the best silk!" Jiang Yanli smiled walking to her and placed a hand on Wei (Y/n)'s shoulder.

"Its good that you chose one.It will look lovely on you..." She smiled. "..Now go try it on!" Jiang Yanli ushered her and Wei (Y/n) nodded going to the back room the worker was gesturing to. The worker took the Hanfu to her and handed it to her before leaving.

After she had changed she walked out and Yanli gasped. "You look so pretty!" Her sister praised making the girl blush. "It doesn't fit perfectly--" She was cut off by the owner who speed walked to her.

"Let me take the measurements and I'll fix it up for you!" She said taking and noting the measurements of the parts that needed to be fixed. Jiang Yanli smiled nodding. "Thank You.. That'd be great." 

After leaving the shop Jiang Yanli dragged her sister to look for hairpins and jewelry much to Wei (Y/n)'s dismay. She didn't mind her sister being like this and buying everything that Wei (Y/n) smiled after seeing, but she didn't think she'd look good wearing them.

She was not like Jiang Yanli who was delicate and kind, Wei (Y/n) was not a girl who was used to delicacy. She was always worried something might happen after all since she left the mountain it had only been chaos.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when Jiang Yanli pulled her along to another stall. There were different hairpins and jewelry items and (Y/n) looked at them all. Her eyes stopped on a hairpin and she smiled, immediately thinking of her daughter. She asked the lady to give her the pin and handed her the money.

"A-Fen will really like it." She smiled and Yanli sighed with a fond smile. "Come on A-(Y/n) she has enough pins.. Choose one for yourself!" At her words Wei (Y/n) nodded and looked at the pins again. The Lady selling the hairpins went to the side when Yanli called her and she saw a beautiful Lotus hairpin. She smiled and called the Lady back motioning to the pin.

The kind lady smiled and packed it up and giving it to her. "Now I only need to buy you some jewelry!" Jiang Yanli smiled and Wei (Y/n) sighed for the thousandth time before following her sister like a baby duckling. Jiang Yanli looked around until she found what she thought was perfect.

After they had bought everything according to Jiang Yanli they went back to Lotus Cove. Wei Lifen came running to her aunt and mother. "Māma! Auntie! Did you bring something for me?" At her words both the females smiled and nodded. "Let's go inside first." At Wei (Y/n)'s words the young girl nodded running ahead making them both laugh at her behavior.

Once they went inside they greeted Madame Yu and Jiang Cheng and were dragged by Lifen to her room. "Māma! What did you bring?" She asked and Wei (Y/n) looked at her raising a brow. "Hmm... Was A-Fen good while we were gone?" At her question she nodded enthusiastically. "Mnhm! I was good!" At her answer Jiang Yanli laughed and pulled out a box setting it in front of her. 

"Go on! Open it." She smiled making Lifen nod and open the box. She gasped when she saw the cute earrings. Looking back at Yanli she pointed to herself "These are mine?" She asked and Yanli nodded chuckling. "Of Course." She squealed and hugged her aunt. "Thank You Auntie!!" Yanli pat her head with a soft smile.

Wei (Y/n) took out the hairpin and handed it to her daughter. "I love it! Thank You Māma!!" She hugged Wei (Y/n) who smiled and patted her back. "I'm glad." She smiled and Lifen sat in front of her. "Put it in my hair please! I'll go show Grandma!" Wei (Y/n) obliged to her request and did what she asked.

After the hairpin had been fixed and she had took the earrings she skipped out to show them to Madame Yu. Wei (Y/n) smiled looking at her back and smiled shaking her head. Jiang Yanli took her hand and squeezed. "A-(Y/n).. I want our daughters or sons to be just as close as we are... I won't ever propose an engagement..." She said laughing lightly. "..But I would like them to be sworn siblings just like Me and A-Cheng are to you and A-Xian." Wei (Y/n) blushed but smiled with a nod.

"I couldn't agree more..." She said as both of them stood up walking out. "I will stop by my room before coming to the dinner table." At her words Jiang Yanli smiled and nodded leaving her sister and Wei (Y/n) went to her own room. She just sat down when a golden butterfly came fluttering inside.

'A-(Y/n) I just sent the letter back to Madame Yu, It'll arrive soon... See you soon My Lady... I love you.'

Her cheeks burned at Lan Xichen's message and she smiled. 'Yes see you soon my Love...

Hello y'all !
Wow.. it's really been months. My life hasn't been the easiest in these past months and I know I give alot of excuses but believe me. It's been hard.

I did read a comment that said to post it all together, so I'm going to be doing something of the sort.

I'll publish the marriage chapters together, and then 3/4 chapters per day.
