Gusu was never the same for Lan Xichen after her coma. He had witnessed his daughter growing up quickly yet withdrawn from the world. She had shut everyone out but few people. Lan Zhixin had grown up too. His own mother missing his First, Second and Third birthday banquets. She hadn't been there to witness his first steps nor to see him speak his first words.
Her disciples had cultivated with their complete focus becoming Gusu's pride. She would've been proud too. Her disciples achieving all this with only a manuscript to serve as guidance from their master.
Lan Wangji had finally been allowed to leave the cold caves as his punishment time came to a close. He had just came out when he went to the Jingshi to change, then went to meet his brother. He knocked on the the door and heard his brother grant entrance. He opened the door softly and went in, his eyes widening at the scene.
"Brother." He greeted saluting as he tried to fight off the appearing smile on his lips. Lan Xichen looked up from the child in his lap and a smile appeared on his face.
"Wangji." He stood up gently holding Zhixin, the child fussing in his arms to be let down and Lan Xichen let him stand on his own. Zhixin wobbled a bit but waddled over to Wangji, inspecting the new comer before deciding he trusted him enough and held on to his leg. Wangji smiled at this before gently prying himself free and kneeled down.
"A-Xin has grown a lot..." He said softly patting his head with a small smile. "How's sister?" He asked and Lan Xichen's eyes became dull, the smile disappearing from his face and when Lan Wangji looked up his own smile disappeared.
"Forgive me.. I shouldn't have spoken." He said slowly standing up and Lan Xichen shook his head. "Its alright." Zhixin raised his hands to Wangji "Up!" At his exclaimation a shocked look appeared on Lan Wangji's face but he did pick Zhixin up.
"Your student will be back in a while. She's on a hunt with her senior Brothers." Lan Xichen told Lan Wangji and he nodded handing Zhixin to his father. "I would like to visit sister.." He said and Lan Xichen nodded after a moment of hesitance, "All right. Lets go." He said walking out, motioning Lan Wangji to follow him.
Wei (Y/n) stood amidst the serene garden, the soft light casting a gentle glow on the cherry blossoms that surrounded her. "Focus on the flow of your energy," Meiying instructed, her voice a calming melody as she demonstrated a series of fluid movements. "Feel the rhythm of the world around you. Your power must be in harmony with the universe."
Wei (Y/n) mirrored the movements, her concentration evident. As the days passed, her appearance began to subtly transform. Her once loose hair grew longer, flowing like a river of darkness, and her eyes took on a soft, ethereal glow. Meiying's guidance was shaping not just her skills but her very essence.
Two weeks into her training, Meiying and Wei (Y/n) sat beneath the cherry trees, their conversation punctuated by the clink of teacups. Meiying's gaze grew thoughtful, her tone carrying a hint of sadness.
"You've made remarkable progress," Meiying said softly. "But there is something you should know."
Wei (Y/n) looked up, her curiosity piqued. "What is it?"
"Some of your powers will be diminished by the time you return," Meiying explained. "It's the nature of the transition between worlds. The energy you have here will not fully translate back."
Wei (Y/n)'s brow furrowed. "How will that affect me?"
"It will be different to get used to," Meiying admitted. "But it's not insurmountable. You will mostly retain the core of your abilities. It's the peripheral skills that will be affected."
