Chapter: 45

Wei (Y/n)'s eyes opened and she blinked trying to adjust them. When her eyesight and senses focused she found herself to be in a different room and felt arms around her waist. That's when she remembered all that had happened the day before. The marriage and the-- She blushed .

Ah... I'm in Lan Huan's room... She thought and a soft smile stretched upon her lips. The male behind her stirred and the hold on her waist tightened just a little bit.

"Good Morning..." Lan Xichen mumbled resting his head on her shoulder. "Good Morning husband..Did you sleep well?" She asked turning in his arms to face him. 

Lan Xichen smiled placing a tender kiss on her lips. "I had you next to me.. Of course I slept well." He smiled making her chuckle lightly. After lying in silence and just observing each other with smiles on their faces, Wei (Y/n) spoke up.

"We should get ready.." She said and Lan Xichen closed his eyes pulling her even more closer. "Can't we just stay here?" He mumbled making her shake her head. "No. We have to attend the tea ceremony and then go to the ancestral hall." Wei (Y/n) said and he sighed nodding and allowed her get up.

Both of them freshened up and changed into fresh sets of robes. Wei (Y/n)'s robe was white with red linings and red designs on the hems of the sleeves. Lan Xichen also changed into a similar robe, but there were no designs on his robe sleeves and only had red linings.

Wei (Y/n) sat in front of the mirror and began to comb her hair. The comb was taken from her hands and she felt fingers brush through her hair. "A-Huan I can do it.." She said with a small smile and he shook his head combing through her hair. "I want to. I promise I can do it well." He said when he noticed the look on her face.

After he had done her into an intricate style, Lan Xichen put in a red hairpin. He stepped back and smiled "I'm done." He announced and Wei (Y/n) tilted her head to look at the mirror.

"So..Husband knows how to do hair." She smiled and Lan Xichen nodded with a smile of his own. "This way I can help you get ready." 

She laughed at his words and stood up. "How sweet." She said and he pulled her close. "A-Huan we have to go." She reminded and he kissed her again. "I can get used to this." He whispered making her roll her eyes with a blush on her cheeks.

"Now let me do your hair." She said and he obliged sitting in front of her. After she had done his hair and secured the forehead ribbon along with the headpiece, they both walked out.

When they entered the dining room, Lan Qiren was already there along with Lan Wangji and Wei Lifen. Both of them greeted Lan Qiren bowing to him.

Lan Wangji however stood up to greet them both when they straightened up. "Brother, Sister-In-Law." He greeted and Lan Xichen nodded while Wei (Y/n) smiled. Wei Lifen also greeted them both with a bright smile.

Wei (Y/n) served tea to Lan Qiren who took it and handed a red envelope to her. She took it bowing her head lightly. "I hope both of you have a happy life together." He said making them both smile.

"Many thanks to Elder Lan." Wei (Y/n) and Lan Qiren smiled stroking his goatee. "Just call me Uncle as Lan Huan does." At his words she smiled nodding.

After breakfast, Lan Qiren went to the Lanshi, Wei Lifen followed her Uncle and both the newly weds went to the ancestral hall to pay respects to Lan Xichen's parents. When they reached there, they kneeled down in front of the memorial tablets and bowed deeply.

They both straightened up but still sat kneeling as Wei (Y/n) spoke. "Mother-In-Law, Father-In-Law.. I never had the honor to meet you but I know that you were great people. I vow solemnly here in front of you both that I will take care of Lan Huan and will be by his side." She spoke softly.
