Lan Xichen staggered back in shock as his wife's body dropped to the ground. He yelled, rushing to her and pulling her in his arms.

"No...No..." He whispered, He couldn't lose his wife again. Not ever...

He tried passing on his spiritual energy to her in the hope of waking her up. He cupped her face, which was molded into one of agony. In her unconsciousness, she groaned before letting out a soft yell.

"A-(Y/n)!!" He tried to wake her up. All the commotion made everyone come out and see it, including the Jiang Sect Leader and his wife.

"Da-Jie?!" He rushed to her, and Wen Qing followed. Immediately frowning and kneeling to take her pulse,

"Sect Leader..." she paused. "Please take Lady Lan to the healing chambers... I need to look at her right now. It's critical..." She said it with urgency. And for once, Xichen didn't even care about his Da-Ge's condition or how his body was on the ground. He immediately picked her up.

He rushed to the healing room and placed her on the bed, his eyes fixed on her face. "Sect Leader Lan, please step outside." Wen Qing spoke firmly, and Jiang Cheng gently tugged the silent male out of the room.

Lan Xichen was scared for his wife and his child; he had no idea what to expect. She'd taken a hit at such close range and in such a weak condition.

"Sect Leader Lan..." Jiang Cheng snapped him out of his thoughts. He placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it gently.

"Don't worry, Sect Leader. Wen Qing is one of the best healers in the cultivation world. She'll do everything she can to save Da-Jie.." He said, trying to comfort him. He knew how scared he was and all he could do was provide him his support.

On the other hand, Nie Huaisang pushed Jin Guangyao away and rushed to the limp body of his brother, crying and yelling but Nie Mingjue didn't move.

"Da-Ge.." He whispered shakily and fell on his knees beside him. His hand was shaking as he reached out to touch him. Nie Huaisang's heart sank as he realized the gravity of the situation. He gently touched his brother's cheek, but there was no response. Panic began to set in as he tried to think of what to do next. He knew he needed to get help, but his mind was racing and he couldn't think straight.

With trembling hands, Nie Huaisang reached for his brother's wrist, hoping to feel a pulse. But there was nothing. His heart sank even further as he realized his brother was gone. "No...Da-Ge..." He whispered as his eyes filled with tears, "Da-Ge!! Wake Up!!" He yelled crying.

Tears streamed down his face as he cradled Nie Mingjue's lifeless body in his arms. He couldn't believe it. How could his strong, powerful brother be gone? It didn't seem real.

In his grief, Nie Huaisang was barely aware of Jin Guangyao's presence. He didn't even acknowledge him as he continued to hold his brother's lifeless body, rocking back and forth in a state of shock and disbelief.

Jin Guangyao felt a strange emotion, everything was going according to plan... But what about the female that was hurt? What if something happened to her? Had he really caused her pain?... Again..?

Jin Guangyao's mind was in turmoil as he grappled with the realization that he had caused pain and harm to Wei (Y/n).

As he thought about Wei (Y/n), Jin Guangyao felt a strange emotion stirring within him - guilt. He had never felt guilty before, not even for the various schemes and manipulations he had used to achieve his goals. But now, the guilt was almost overwhelming.

"Da-ge.." He whispered as well, walking ahead and placing a hand on the crying male's shoulder. "Huaisang..." He said softly and shook his head as he looked up, this made Huaidang even angrier and he cried shaking his head.

"No! Nothing can happen to Da-Ge!" He cried burying his head in Mingjue's hair. The disciples who had run off slowly started to gather around them and bowed their heads in respect, no one saying anything. The air was silent and still, the only voices were of Huaisang who was crying, and of Guangyao who was comforting him.

After what felt like an eternity, Wen Qing finally emerged from the healing room. Her expression was grave, and Lan Xichen's heart sank. He knew the news wasn't good. Did something happen to his wife..? Or his child?

"I did all I could, Sect Leader Lan. But I'm sorry... the baby." She whispered, her voice filled with sadness and shook her head.

Lan Xichen felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest as he heard her words. He felt a wave of grief wash over him, the pain of losing his child almost too much to bear. He had hoped against hope that nothing happened to their child, but it was not meant to be. He couldn't imagine how (Y/n) would react when she found out.

He stumbled back, "No...No, this can't be happening." He whispered, his voice breaking.

Jiang Cheng's eyes widened as he heard his wife speak, now that he himself was soon to be a father he could only understand the pain Lan Xichen felt. "I'm so sorry, Sect Leader Lan..." He said, his own voice thick with emotion.

Lan Xichen didn't know how he was going to go on. He had seen his wife go into a coma for years, and now he had lost his child. It felt like the world was against him like he was cursed.

But he knew he had to be strong, for (Y/n) and for himself. He wiped away his tears and took a deep breath. "Thank you, Lady Jiang. Please continue to do everything you can for A-(Y/n)." He said, his voice steady, but not masking the pain in his heart.

"Sect Leader Jiang, Sect Leader Lan.." A Jiang disciple came up to them, saluting before he spoke, "Sect Leader Nie... He has passed away..." The disciple whispered, and Lan Xichen's eyes widened and he stumbled back slightly.

How cruel could life be?!
