Wei (Y/n) smiled as she rocked Zhixin gently to sleep. The little boy was very calm and didn't cry much. Wei (Y/n) had mentioned that he would just be like his uncle Wangji but when Zhixin was awake he babbled and smiled a lot, clearly looking his father's copy.
It was Jin Ling's one month anniversary but she couldn't attend as she still felt weak and exhausted. She had sent a letter to her older sister excusing her absence and Jiang Yanli agreed as she knew her sister's condition.
Wei (Y/n) looked up when she felt someone entering the room, yet another smile graced her lips at seeing her husband. "Husband." She greeted and the male smiled looking at her.
"A-(Y/n)... Is A-Xin asleep again?" He asked sitting down in front of her softly tracing his son's cheek and the little child stirred a little before settling into his mother's arms.
"He's just a baby, you can't expect him to keep awake all the time." She chuckled lightly and the male laughed leaning to softly kiss her lips. "You look tired." She said once he pulled back.
"Mn.. I had a lot to take care of. And the congratulatory letters just don't stop coming." He sighed and she hummed. "After you return from Lanling you should rest."
He looked at her curiously. "Will you not attend?" She shook her head. "I don't think I can manage. I've told Shijie.. I'll probably visit a little while later." Lan Xichen nodded in understanding and stood up but Wei (Y/n) stopped him handing him a red box.
"Hand this over to Shijie.. Its a little gift for A-Ling." She smiled and he nodded reciprocating her smile. "I will.." He leaned to press a kiss on her lips and one on the sleeping baby's forehead. "Take care of yourselves." She smiled as Zhixin pried open his eyes, and as his eyes fixed on Lan Xichen he began reaching for his father.
Lan Xichen smiled setting the box down and picked up Zhixin who smiled brightly reaching out so he could place his hands on Lan Xichen's face. The Sect Leader sat down on the bed holding his finger out for Zhixin as he held on it tightly cooing to his father.
"Don't you have to go?" Wei (Y/n) chuckled as she looked at them and Lan Xichen smiled playing with his son. "I can spare few moments. A-Xin is awake now. " She shook her head fondly, kissing his cheek. Lan Zhixin cooed as his mother came into view and began reaching for her again.
As much as he loved being carried by his father and playing with him, he couldn't stay away from his mother for long. She laughed and gently took him in her arms after standing up.
"Wangji would be waiting. You should go now. We'll see you off." She said and looked at her son. "Isn't that right Xin'er?" She asked as she kissed his cheek making the baby giggle.
Lan Xichen looked at the two of the most important people in his life. He couldn't be thankful enough for having them. He stood up with a smile, taking the box Wei (Y/n) had given him before and went next to her. "Let us go then, My Lady." He smiled kissing the side of her head as both of them walked out.
Many passing disciples greeted them both as they made their way to the front gate where Lan Wangji stood waiting for his brother's arrival. He greeted them both when they were near enough. A small smile rose on his lips after seeing his nephew who was playing with his own little hands.
He went near Wei (Y/n) and gently caressed his cheek making Zhixin look up at the new person and reach out his hands yet again. Wei (Y/n) laughed at this but Lan Wangji didn't mind and took the child as Wei (Y/n) handed him over.
Zhixin shifted in his arms and tried to grab Lan Wangji's forehead ribbon as the male kissed his head. He handed Zhixin back to Wei (Y/n) gently, a smile apparent on his face. Wei (Y/n) bid farewells to the Twin Jades of Lan and went back inside.
