Chapter: 49

By the time Wei (Y/n) had come out, darkness had settled in Lotus Cove. She had her arm hooked with Lan Xichen's arm as both of them walked to the main hall.

As soon as she entered and her brother saw her, he rushed to her. Lan Xichen let her go and both the siblings hugged each other. Wei Ying rested his head on her shoulder whispering that he was so happy for her and the female replying with shy words.

Once they parted Jiang Yanli had hugged her sister. "I'm so happy for you A-(Y/n)!" She said smiling and Wei (Y/n) thanked her. Jiang Yanli turned to congratulate Lan Xichen and Madame Yu walked up to Wei (Y/n) taking her hands and squeezing them softly.

"Congratulations A-(Y/n)! This is great news! You and A-Li both are having a child so there must be a celebration for this!" She said smiling and Wei (Y/n) smiled bashfully. Jiang Cheng also walked up to her and congratulated his sister on this news.

"Are A-Fen and the disciples back yet?" Lan Xichen asked with a smile and Jiang Yanli nodded. "They are. They've been escorted to their rooms to rest before dinner." At her words, Wei (Y/n) smiled nodding a little, and then looked at her husband who smiled back at her.

"Come sit A-(Y/n)!" Madame Yu hurried her to a seat to sit down and Lan Xichen followed, wanting to be as close as he could be with her. He sat down next to her with a soft smile.

Jiang Yanli followed sitting on the seat in front of her sister while Wei Ying and Madame Yu took sides beside her, Jiang Cheng sitting on the main seat.

"I've said this before, but I would love if our children were sworn siblings as well." Jiang Yanli said smiling after some time and Wei (Y/n) nodded to her sister's words.

"They will be. I just hope they don't fight like Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng." She giggled making the two males scoff. "We don't fight!" They said at the same time making Yanli and (Y/n) laugh at them.

Just then MianMian came to the hall and saluted. "Dinner is ready." She informed them after being dismissed. Wei (Y/n) stood up seeing her and went up to her, hugging her. This surprised the female but she smiled hugging back softly.

"How are you MianMian?" She asked and the said girl smiled. "I've been well, what about you Lady Wei?" She smiled asking but then as if remembering she squeezed her hand. "Congratulations! I just heard from Jinzhu. This is such good news!" She exclaimed and Wei (Y/n) smiled and MianMian reciprocated it. 

"I will go call the disciples and Lan Lifen." She smiled and Wei (Y/n) nodded looking at Lan Xichen who came to stand next to her, as well as her siblings and Madam Yu. They chatted on the way to the dinner table and concluded to not tell Lan Lifen the news just now. They took their seats and Lan Qiujian arrived first followed shortly by his junior brothers and Lan Lifen. They took their seats after greeting the elders present.

Dinner passed without any event and they soon went to their rooms. Wei (Y/n) and Lan Xichen went to Wei (Y/n)'s old room. They were preparing for sleep and Lan Xichen was helping her undo her hair. He smiled running his hand through her black locks. Wei (Y/n) hummed with content and leaned back into his chest. 

"Can you believe A-Huan? We're having a child..." She said softly and the male wrapped his arms around her, his hands resting on her stomach. "I can't... It still feels like a dream." At his remark, she chuckled. "Me neither. But I'm extremely happy." She smiled and he leaned against the headboard, (Y/n) resting against his chest.

"In a few months, we'll be seeing our child..." Lan Xichen said happily and Wei (Y/n) only hummed, her eyes fluttering due to tiredness. Lan Xichen noticed and helped her lay down. He kissed her forehead softly. "Sleep now A-(Y/n). You need rest." He said with a  smile and kissed her on the lips before taking off his headpiece and lying down next to her, pulling her to his chest and hugging her close. Both of them drifted to a deep slumber in a matter of minutes with smiles on their lips.

After staying two days in Lotus cove, they were saying farewells now. Jiang Yanli had left the day before so did Wei Ying. Only Madame Yu and Jiang Cheng were there to send them off. Madame Yu hugged Wei (Y/n) patting her on the back "Now you must be very careful in this condition Alright?" Madame Yu sai after she pulled back and Wei (Y/n) nodded to her advice. The elder then turned to Lan Xichen with a smile.

"Sect Leader Lan must look after her well. She's prone to get sick easily now." Madame Yu said and he nodded bowing his head. "I will make sure to do so." Lan Xichen smiled.

Lan Xichen being extra careful pressed that they take a boat to Caiyi Town and not fly swords. Wei (Y/n) was slightly irritated but she found it more endearing how much serious he took this. Once they were at Caiyi Town, Lan Xichen helped her out holding her hand and carefully leading them back to Gusu. 

The three disciples and Lan Lifen following them, slightly worried by the carefulness of Lan Xichen. Did something happen to the Madame of Lan? Was she not feeling well? They had questions in their minds which they chose not to ask.

As soon as they entered Cloud Recesses Wei (Y/n) sent her disciples off to rest and both her and Lan Xichen led Lan Lifen to the Lanshi, where they knew Lan Qiren would be present. This act made Lan Lifen anxious.

Had she done something wrong? Or had she broken a rule? She was scared but followed them quietly, her head bowed. 

Lan Xichen had taken the initiative to hold (Y/n)'s hand and at stairs he would place a hand on her lower back to help her up. She would only roll her eyes with a fond smile.

Once they were in the Lanshi they saw both Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji sitting there. The couple saluted greeting the elder. "Uncle." both males looked up, Lan Qiren showing slight surprise and dismissed them. 

"Grandfather, Uncle Wangji." Lifen greeted as well, with a polite smile. The males smiled at her dismissing them. "Weren't you supposed to stay for a few more days?" Lan Qiren asked once they had sat down.

At his question Lan Xichen smiled brightly. "We had to, but the news we got...we didn't stay for long." He said and Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji looked over to the couple. Lan Lifen also looked at the smiling duo.

"What news Lan Huan? You look extremely happy." Lan Qiren asked raising an eyebrow. Lan Xichen took Wei (Y/n)'s hand under the table, squeezing it lightly.

"Uncle... Lan Clan will be having an heir soon." Wei (Y/n) spoke with a smile, her words leaving the other three shocked. Lan Qiren looked at them with wide eyes and so did Lan Wangji. Lan Lifen sat still for a moment, but she was the first to snap out of the trance. 

"I'm having a sibling?" She asked and when she received a smiling nod from her father. She squealed standing up and running to Wei (Y/n) side, hugging her tightly. "Congratulations Mama!! I'm so happy!" She exclaimed making Wei (Y/n) laugh as she hugged her back.

Lan Qiren cleared his throat and Lan Lifen paused, parting from her mother. She had a nervous smile on her face, She must have broken a rule or two. However the elder smiled.

"Congratulations to both of You." He said, happiness visible on his face. Lan Wangji also smiled, not a small one. A complete smile happy for his brother. 

"I congratulate Brother and Sister-In-Law." He said and both of them smiled mirthfully.

"That's really Great News! There must a banquet held for this." Lan Qiren smiled looking at the couple who was sharing a smile, looking at eachother. Lan Xichen held her hand under the table squeezing it.
