Into The Day - Ep 2

Kimmy's mouth was agape. She rubbed her eyes but the face never changed. Aliss was standing on the stage, she had used magic, she was alive. Kimmy could feel a heavy blow in her ribcage. Aliss jumped from the stage to hold onto her friend. "You're here. You're back". Kimmy whispered before her heart gave out and she collapsed. Aliss looked at Kimmy and then the building. This was image she had drawn predicting the future.

Penn ran to the two girls. "There's no time to talk", she stopped him from talking, "we have to get Kimmy to Dr. Foster". Penn nodded and threw Kimmy over his shoulders. Aliss waved the wand over them and they vanished. When the light faded, they had arrived in front of Dr. Foster's office. Aliss banged on it and the doctor came running out. Penn wanted to ask how Dr. Foster could still be in human form at night but Aliss's presence was a bigger mystery.

"Bring her". The doctor directed them to a prepared room and chased the other two out. "I know you have questions. I promise that I have answers but it'll have to wait. I need to know if Kimmy is going to be okay first". Penn was speechless. It was the second time that night that she had spoken his mind without fail. He did stay silent as they waited for any news.

An hour passed before Dr. Foster came outside. "She stable now but a cardiac arrest is no joke". The doctor informed them. "She had a heart attack?" Penn blinked severally in shock. "My vision was correct then", Aliss spoke to Foster, "we only have a week till the next one. You're free to go but you have to gather them". "I will", Foster nodded, her skin turning transparent, "there is something else you should know. She had scars on her legs. PTSD wrapped in depression is a recipe for disaster. Make her talk". Aliss nodded and Foster vanished.

She turned to Penn, "I need to find Leati or Callisa. We don't have much time", she said, "please stay with Kimmy. I'll be back in the morning with coffee and an explanation". "You had better". Was all brown haired male could muster. Aliss kissed his cheek, saying, "I'm so glad I get to see you again" then ran out. Me too Penn sighed, entering the room to sit down.

Aliss shook the wand but it's magic wasn't so strong anymore. "Right now?" She hissed at it. She tucked it in the holster attached to the chain. Aliss removed her spell book and jumped inside. Once inside the tower, she projected her mind to the venue of the Festival of Spring.

Some creatures were still recovery from the shock while Meadow and her Court friends were doing damage control for the brutality they witnessed. She wanted to apologize or at least, repair the damage to the vines but she was low on time. She quickly spotted the unconscious enemies so she floated them out quietly. She was already at the entrance when a voice spooked her.

"Aliss?" Aliss lost her grip for a minute but resumed carrying the people. "I can't talk now, Leati", she said, avoiding his eyes, "I promise I will explain everything but I need to get this people away from here". Leati tried to pull her arm but his claws just went through her. The male stepped back in horror. "I know what you're thinking", Aliss finally faced him, "and no, I'm not a ghost or a Bogey. I'm currently in the Watch Tower projecting my consciousness from there". "Oh". He sighed in relief then shook his head, "you can't just walk away. 'A lot of explaining' doesn't cover what you owe us; what you owe me".

"I will make it up to you but not now". Aliss put the people behind a bush and charged to the left side of the building. "If you're looking for an unconscious man, he woke up minutes ago. Don't know why he was knocked out in the first place". "How long has he been gone?!" "Probably forty five minutes. Why?" "Oh no"

Aliss raced back into the building just as it exploded. Leati growled transforming into his full form. Since Aliss's body wasn't in the room, the heat nor smoke affected her. "Ke ireta wum fit dar nosi ishal!" As soon as she yelled the spell, the ground rumbled. The water rose to the ceiling and drenched every part, extinguishing the flames before they got wild. "Is everyone alright?!"

Those that had been angry about her entrance, those that had mixed feelings and those who were happy expressed their gratitude by bowing at the Watcher. Aliss sighed stumbling a bit. She was glad no one was seriously hurt. She was about to leave again when Leati roared for her attention. Aliss walked to where the full Lynx was circling around. She found Meadow crying with her hands on a burned body. The face was not completely disfigured so she knew it was Onyx. "I don't care about the sanctity of life", Meadow sniffed, casting her green eyes at Aliss, "find who is responsible for this and kill them". "You have my word, Meadow". Aliss thought she had prevented the worst yet she couldn't save everyone.

"Aliss, Aliss", Kimmy's mumbles woke Penn up, "Aliss, Aliss, Al..." "Hey", he rubbed her hand, "it's okay. You're fine. She's fine". Kimmy's eyelashes fluttered till she registered her environment.  "How did I? Where? I was in...I saw...Aliss", Kimmy grabbed Penn's shirt, "I saw Aliss! I know I saw her". "You did. Breathe, Kimmy Su", Penn peeled her hands for the fabric, "Aliss is alive. She's gonna be here soon".  Kimmy's eyes teared up, "it wasn't a dream", she smiled, "she's alive. She's alive, Penn".

As if summoned, Aliss walked in wearing her clothes of the previous night with Leati behind her in bathrobes. Penn greeted Leati with a peck on the cheek and asked, "do I wanna know?" "It's Jim's. We made a detour after someone tried to kill the Folk with a bomb". "Shit", Penn exclaimed, "are you okay? No burns?" "I'm fine". Leati's heart did a happy dance. It was nice to have some care for him so tenderly; someone who wasn't his sister that is.

Aliss cleared her throat and the two snapped out of their world. "I guess you too finally confessed", she smirked, "if I find out that you were making out over my grave, someone's gonna be sorry". "Even if we did, it wouldn't be disrespectful since you're alive...which you keep promising to have an explanation for". "I do but this morning is about Kimmy".

She placed Kimmy's hands in hers causing the other to gasp. She believed her eyes but feeling her best friend was a miracle. "Don't try to talk", Aliss said lovingly, "I am so sorry for all the heartache I've caused you. I never...I never thought I'd see you again". "You were Rora this whole time?" Kimmy asked in between the crying.

"I had to find a way to protect you while figuring out who was behind it all".

"Principal Heights?"

"I felt your fear, Kimmy Su. Just like how the fear of losing you triggered my Watcher powers, that moment woke my porting powers".

"Maybe I should get into trouble more often to give you more powers".

Aliss chuckled and kissed Kimmy's forehead. "Even a heart attack can't change you", she said, "I missed you". "I missed you more. I need you, Aliss. The world needs you". "Luckily for all of you, I'm never leaving. Ever". Aliss sighed and looked at the three of them. "I'm still going to say the full story", she said, "but I just discovered that I can't die. I'm eternity".

"Eternity?" Penn asked.

"Yeah. No matter how many times or how many ways anyone tries to kill me, I'll always come back. According to facts, that wasn't the first time I died".

"That's unbelievable. Why?"

"It's because of who my parents were; my real parents. I also found out that I was adopted". The three wore shocked expressions. "I want to say more but not here", Aliss pulled out her wand and said, "Penn and Leati, please let me talk before you pounce". "Why would we..." Penn's question was lost as the pink light engulfed them. The four of them teleported to a not-so-familiar room. "I was thinking you'd gotten yourself killed again. This is what I get for dealing with children".

The cocky voice came with a man in a snazzy suit and scotch in his hand. Leati growled and Penn balled his fists. "Someone's still upset about our little fiasco". Lucian said, taking a calm sip of the alcohol. Aliss rolled her eyes and faced her friends, "I promise he's not the enemy", she lowered her voice, "but after you hear his side of the story, I'll give you a couple minutes to settle the scores. Okay?" "Fine". Penn reluctantly agreed while Leati just crossed his arms and looked away. "Thank you", she sighed, "now Lucian, tell them what you told me".

I can't believe Kimmy had a heart attack. It was bound to happen if you followed her life carefully. I'm just glad Aliss is back in the fight. There's more to come peeps. Stick around!
