After the explanation and a two-on-one wrestling match, the tension in the room depleted. "Those claw wounds are infectious". Lucian grunted in pain as Aliss tended to his wounds. "I've already removed the toxin. You'll be fine". She intentionally tightened the bandage and he groaned. "Why not just heal it all together?" "And ruin Leati's hard work? No thanks".

Aliss decided forcing Lucian to heal slowly was his punishment for killing her without her permission. "It's still hard to believe", Penn said, "how can you be six hundred years old or be born with powers that no one ever noticed?" "That part is still a mystery but we don't have time to dwell on it", Aliss brought up the main topic at hand, "remember what Cedar said?"

"Yeah. All the Third Ways have been compromised. Seeing you, it makes sense how he even got here".

"I was in London following a lead when the raid happened. I'm glad I was there in time. He could have died".

"He's at my apartment but you probably already knew that. Why act as Rora Kim when you had all the information?"

"Actually, we didn't", Aliss put her hands on her waist, "it was clear that the Folk was the target but we needed to know how they'd take them out from all over the world". "You could have included us in the plan afterwards". Leati snapped. "It was too much of a risk. Red Cloaks were always watching. I can't believe I didn't notice it before".

They paused for a few minutes to catch their breaths. "How did you know what would happen to Kimmy?" Penn finally laid it off his mind, "Dr. Foster should have faded but she was there and you didn't seem surprised by the heart attack". "Because I've had a vision about it for months". She clicked her fingers and two canvas appeared. Kimmy recognized the first but not the second.

"The one with the Lynxes happened before the marking and then the one with Kimmy came before the cursing of the hobgoblins". She elaborated. "Visions comes in order", Leati pointed at the first one, "that has not happened". "That's because my visions work in the opposite way", Aliss waved blue sparks and two crayon drawings materialized, "I drew these when I was a kid", she said, "we're still trying to figure out what they mean but I know it's what's coming".

"You told Dr. Foster that the next vision would happen in a week. What does that mean?" "Because we heard those mad scientists talking about reaching the gates in seven days", she answered, "we weren't sure when but since Kimmy's vision has already happened, I think it's six days from today". "The gates have been hidden for centuries", Leati stated, "if they manage to find it, what would they do?"

"We know their leader is a Daemon. My guess, they want to release the remaining Daemons to make their psychotic plans happen. I'm gonna use it against them".

"How?"

"I'll seal all the Creatures of the Night back into the Nether World. Once we're there, I can put an end to their plots once and for all". "What?!" Kimmy and Penn yelled. "I know you both aren't happy about it", she gave them sad eyes, "but that's what's best. Humans are causalities of this war. It is my duty as a Watcher and as the holder of the Sisters of Life core to restore order. Creatures of the Night don't belong in the human realm. It's too risky". "And what about your duty to me? To your Dad? And to everything you've ever known?!" "Kimmy". Kimmy got up and stormed out. "I need to talk to her. Please, behave". "No promises". Penn rolled his eyes.

"Kimmy Su". Aliss found her crouched on the floor. The stubborn girl turned her face away and scowled. Aliss sat beside her, "I know this is hard but I can't think about myself anymore. It wouldn't matter", she said, "everything that's happened to your family is because of the Creatures of the Night. You of all people should understand why this is the only way".
