Enid's POV:

A loud noise awakened me and my eyes shot open. I saw that Wednesday wasn't in bed and the bathroom light was on from the crack under the door.

I sat up groggily—what was going on? I checked the time and it was two in the morning. What the hell was she doing up at this time?

The door opened and I fell back onto my bed, pretending to sleep. I occasionally peeked out to see what Wednesday was up to.

It looked like she was leaving—she was gathering things from her desk and shoving them into her bag. I tried to make out what they were, but the darkness in the room made it nearly impossible.

I caught her head turn in my direction and thank God I was quick to react. I closed my eyes and kept them shut, unsure of how long she'd be looking in my direction for.

I heard a door open and then close, and I jerked up. I looked around the room to not find her in sight—she must have left. Quietly, I slipped into my slippers and tiptoed out of the dorm.

I followed Wednesday stealthily, creating a large distance between us to decrease my visibility and the chances of her seeing me. I wondered what she was doing.

I continued to follow her as she walked through the Nevermore gate. She stopped a few yards away and stood there, hands in front of her, like she was waiting.

I hid behind a pillar and peered out to watch her. Did she know I followed her? Was she waiting for me to reveal myself? Was she just going to attack me suddenly and murder me?

No...

A car slowly pulled up and someone got out. I crouched down and watched as the person walked toward her. I squinted, trying to make out the figure in the dark.

Was that... Tyler?

What the fuck? I thought he was locked up?

He started to yell, but it wasn't loud enough for me to make out what he was saying. But all of a sudden, Wednesday was slapped across the face and she stumbled.

I gasped inaudibly and covered my mouth with my hand. With my breath shaking, I slowly stood to my feet and began to walk back to the school.

What... the... hell...?

I had to inform Yoko about this.

Wednesday's POV:

I walked into my dorm with an ice pack to my cheek. I stole it from the nurse's office to relieve the pain. I didn't want it to be noticeable and people ask—that would be terrible.

As I silently entered, I looked directly at Enid's bed to find her still fast asleep. I sighed with relief and walked over to my bed to sit down.

There was just something about Jason...

Tyler told me to make him a target, but I refused to let him get murdered. I liked Jason, he was special. Then, I got hit. Tyler demanded that I make him a target, so I promised.
