Enid's POV:
I walked to class, blocking out everything that had happened the night before. Something was wrong with Wednesday, but I didn't know what. She left me alone in the dorm yesterday after she stormed out, and I assumed she came back later that night while I was asleep.
On the news this morning, there was a report of a murder in the woods. It gave me weird vibes—probably because of what happened last semester. I wouldn't like to go into much detail about it though, it was super gory and yucky.
I also noticed that Wednesday was on her phone a lot more than usual. And obviously, that was weird for someone who loathed technology.
I entered the class and sat down next to the raven. She didn't pay any attention to me and only doodled in her notebook.
I scrolled on my phone until class started. "What's his name?" I heard a whisper. I looked up to see Wednesday pointing at the boy in front of her. Jason, to be exact.
Wait...
"Jason. But you already knew that," I said, furrowing my eyebrows.
"No, I didn't. That was why I asked, imbecile." She scoffed, turning away from me.
Okay, what the actual fuck? I tried not to think about it for the rest of the period, but it went by so slowly. Just... what the hell...?

I sat down next to Wednesday at lunch and noticed Yoko staring at me. I raised my eyebrow as if I was questioning her and she quickly eyed the girl next to me. I rolled my eyes and shook my head, not answering and resting my chin on my hand instead.
"Jason, right?" I heard her speak next to me. But I already knew who she was talking to.
"Um..." He chuckled wryly. "Yeah... Did you forget my name or something?" the boy asked.
The raven shrugged, ignoring him. "Tell me about yourself," she demanded.
By that point, I was already dragging Yoko away from the table. "The fuck is wrong with her?" she exclaimed once we stopped.
"I don't know!" I threw my hands up in frustration. "That's what I mean, Yoks!"
I glanced over and watched the two converse. Wednesday seemed very interested in the conversation. I spotted Layla sitting there, awkwardly, before noticing us and standing up. I totally forgot we left her there.
The girl approached us. "What's wrong with your girl?" she asked me.
"Um..." I trailed off. I HAD NO FUCKING CLUE, LAYLA! DID WEDNESDAY EVEN KNOW WE WERE DATING?
"She's fucking flirting with my brother! I thought she was dating you!" Layla told me, and my heart dropped.
She didn't remember anything... Something had to have happened to her... She would never leave me for someone else—she promised me that.
"Girl, something's wrong with her," the vampire said.
I looked at the two girls in front of me. "We need to figure this out. Yoko, we're meeting in your dorm after classes. We can talk about it there," I told them, and they agreed. "But I do wanna try to talk to Wednesday first, so give me some time to get down there," I added as we walked back to the table.
As we sat down, I noticed Wednesday wasn't there once I had finally pulled my attention away from the girls. "Where's Wednesday?" I asked Jason, scanning the quad.
"Over there," he answered, pointing behind me. I turned around to find her at another table talking to some random girl.
What the jellyfish?
I whipped my head around to find Yoko also staring. Wednesday was up to something, and we knew it.

I sat on my bed in the dorm, waiting for Wednesday. I hadn't seen her since classes ended and she hadn't been back to the dorm since. I was worried kinda.
"Enid!" I heard from the hallway.
Who?
"Enid!" Yoko barged through the door. I jumped up, startled.
I didn't get a chance to respond. "Come on!" she yelled and raced back out the door. I ran after her. It was a bit early to hang out—I told them to wait like an hour first to see if I could talk to Wednesday alone.
We ran into her dorm and she pointed to the TV. Another murder had taken place in the woods. They were gutted so badly and Yoko showed me a picture she had somehow found and I gagged.
I felt like I was going to throw up. "What the hell's going on?" Layla asked with her eyes widened.
The vampire shrugged. They continued to watch the news, but I couldn't bear it.
"Have you guys seen Wednesday?" I asked them, and their gazes were pulled away from the TV to me.
"I think I saw her going to the library or something," Layla told me.
I ran out of the dorm and to the library, slowing down once I reached the entrance. I carefully peered around the corner until I spotted her.
And a boy next to her... Jason...
They were close together. She never allowed anyone to be that close to her other than me.
I ran between bookshelves until I found the perfect spot to spy on them. They had their phones out and were showing each other pictures.
That was not like Wednesday. She was even...
Giggling? What the hell?
