Wednesday's POV:
My eyes fluttered open. I was still in the hospital room. I had finally awoken since they gave me the sedatives.
I lifted my head from the uncomfortable pillow and scanned the room. My eyes landed on Enid who was sitting in the chair, scrolling on her phone.
"Enid?" I said in a very quiet and hoarse voice. It was also muffled by the mask still on my face.
Her eyes met mine rather quickly and she dropped her phone. "Wednesday!" she exclaimed, standing up.
The wolf ran over to me and looked at me for a moment, her eyes flickering from my right eye to my left. With no hesitation, she ripped the mask off my face and pulled me toward her, kissing me. I kissed back for a few moments before pulling away and taking a couple of breaths.
"Easy, girl. I just woke up," I said with a small chuckle. Enid straightened up and smiled widely at me, to which I returned a small one.
I missed my Enid.
Enid's POV:
A nurse came in to check on Wednesday after she woke up. I was so happy she was awake.
The fight we had was pushed far back once she opened her eyes. I didn't care about that anymore, I cared about her.
I listened in very carefully as Wednesday and the nurse spoke. I just wanted to make sure she was alright. They said she could be discharged as long as she had control over her body.
The raven nodded and lifted the blanket to place it to the side. She swung her legs off the bed and steadied herself for a second.
The nurse held out a hand and Wednesday grabbed it. I felt a pang of jealousy and shot up to grab her other hand. Together, the nurse and I helped my girlfriend stand up for the first time in a while.
Surprisingly, she stood normally and was able to walk. But she did have a small limp which should hopefully go away in a couple of weeks. It must be an Addams family thing to be able to heal fast—like us werewolves.
I smiled at the girl as she walked back and forth across the room. Thank God she was awake.
I missed you, Wednesday.
Wednesday's POV:
As I walked around the room, the wound felt a bit better than it did last night. It must have been whatever the nurse drugged me with.
I was discharged and Enid called her vampire friend to pick us up. I was so grateful I was finally awake and with my girlfriend. I missed her so much.
A few minutes later, Enid stood up from the bed. We were sitting next to each other as we waited for Yoko. "Yoko's here. Ready to go?" she asked, and I nodded as I rose to my feet.
We walked out of the hospital and sat in the backseat of the car. "Damn, you healed that fast, girl?" The vampire laughed, and I nodded which made her sigh.
The two girls chatted along the car ride as I sat there, looking out the window. How many days had it been?
We arrived at Nevermore and as we parted ways, Yoko waved. Enid, of course, waved back, but I just gave her a small nod. Silently appreciating her... for everything, basically.
We walked the halls of the school and I finally broke the silence that was lingering between the two of us. "How long was I out for?" I asked, connecting eyes with the wolf.
"Maybe like 6 or 7 days. I'm not sure, I wasn't keeping track," she replied. I nodded as I looked back down, watching how perfectly our feet were in sync as we walked.
We stopped in front of our dorm as Enid unlocked it. She let me walk in first and I do, but I only take a few steps before spinning around to wait for her.
The girl walked in and locked the door again but as she turned around, she stopped in her tracks once she saw me.
"Are you okay?" I asked before she could say anything.
"Yeah! Yeah, I'm good," Enid told me.
Deep down, I didn't believe her. Deep down, I thought she was lying. "You're not—I can see," I said to her.
My girlfriend's eyes widened a bit. "Y-you can?"
I nodded, stepping closer to her as she didn't move an inch. "That fight was my fault, it wasn't yours. I am sincerely sorry about it. I care about you deeply—always know that," I explained, holding her hand in mine.
"I love you," she muttered as she looked into my eyes.
I swallowed. Enid gave me a small smile, most likely knowing I wasn't going to say it back. But maybe instead of saying it...
I pressed my body to hers as I kissed her passionately. She kissed back without hesitation. We pulled away after a few moments and rested our foreheads together.
"I-I... love you too," I whispered.
I said it... I actually said it. I finally told Enid I loved her. My heart skipped a beat and I looked into her eyes as she grinned.
"I know you do," Enid smirked before bringing me into another round.
