Enid's POV:
We have finally arrived back at Nevermore. Christmas and New Year's with the Addams family were amazing. I had so much fun with them.
We unpacked our stuff as we both listened to our own music. As I was lifting my things, I eyed the ring on my finger. It was so perfect—literally because it was from my Wens. But even in general, it was gorgeous.
Her parents had told me they'd keep the cat with them since they didn't know how Nevermore was with pets. Completely reasonable, but that meant I'd be visiting more often. And I knew Wens wouldn't mind that.
It had been around an hour and we finally finished unpacking and setting our dorm back up. I noticed my girlfriend taking her headphones off and setting them on her desk. I did the same before walking over to her and taking her hands in mine.
"So how are you feeling?" I asked.
"Deathly allergic to this school," she replied. "I don't want to be here."
I spotted a tiny smile forming on her face as she looked into my eyes. Ugh, I was gonna die. "You know, you're very cute when you're deadly." I flirted.
Wednesday blushed a little and turned her face away to hide it. I smirked and used my fingers to turn her chin so she looked at me again. I pulled her in for a sweet kiss before a knock on the door broke us apart.
I groaned and went over to answer it. But once I opened the door, I was taken aback.
"Enid, pack your shit up—we're leaving," my mom said sternly, immediately pushing me into the dorm toward my side.
My girlfriend didn't move, but stayed put and glared intensely. I spun around to my mother and shook my head. "No, I'm not good enough for you. Remember?" I yelled, anger coursing through my veins.
I watched her lips turn in different directions as she stumbled over her words.
"I believe she's staying here," a voice said.
Both of our heads snapped around to find Wednesday right next to us. Yay, my girlfriend's here to save me!
"Huh, you must be the Addams," the woman remarked.
The raven smirked a little and scoffed. "And you must be the imbecile of a mother that no one bats an eye at," she snapped.
My eyes widened. Wednesday had to be careful. Did she forget that my mom's a wolf?!
"Don't get in the way of us! You mean nothing to her!"
Before I could blink, my mother was punched across the face. I lunged at my girlfriend to hold her back from doing anything else.
I moved her to sit on my bed before whipping around to look at my mom. She was holding the side of her face and there was already a bruise forming. Damn, Wens got a fist.
"I'll be back, mark my words," she grunted before storming out of the room.
The door slammed shut and after that, it was dead silent. I sighed and took my hands off Wednesday's shoulders. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths to relax.
