Tyler's POV:

"Ajax! Come down!" I yelled up the stairs as I stared at the girl who was awakening.

Ajax hustled down the stairs and I motioned him to follow me as we walked toward her. Wednesday was sitting up groggily as she rubbed her neck.

"She's awake. We have to do it now," I whispered to him as we got closer before crouching.

Wednesday locked eyes with me immediately. "Tyler?"

It was time to take action.

"I am the Hyde, and you are my master. I have a plan to take over Nevermore. You will go back to the school and find people for us to kill off. Don't tell anyone about this or you will be punished severely." The words left my mouth at a steady pace and the raven only looked at me as I spoke.

"Oh, and Enid's mi—" Ajax started to talk, but I clamped my hand over his mouth. I hung my head and shook it slightly with a sigh. How stupid was he?

"You understand?" I glanced back up at Wednesday, and she nodded slowly. "Great," I said, standing up and holding out a hand to help her to her feet. She needed to get back to Nevermore.

"I can get up on my own, thanks," she muttered as she stood up, using the wall for balance.

I chuckled lightly and turned around to walk up the stairs, Wednesday and Ajax following behind me. There was still more to tell her, but the plan to take over Nevermore was a go.

Enid's POV:

I was still lying on Wednesday's bed. I had spent midnights waking up, drenched in sweat, calling out her name. But there were never any calls back.

It was early noon now and I had been skipping classes all week. It felt like she had been gone for decades. Where was she?

I heard the door open and I groaned. I didn't want any company at the moment. "Go away, Yoko!" I shouted, hoping she'd leave.

"I'm not Yoko," a familiar voice said.

I jerked up from the bed and saw Wednesday standing by the door. My eyes widened as I ran over to her and hugged her. "Wens!"

She didn't hug back, but I didn't care. She was finally here—I missed her so much.

"Sinclair, get off of me," the raven spoke sternly.

Sinclair?

I leaned back and looked at my girlfriend, resting my hands on her shoulders. Before I could ask a question, she spoke before me.

"Get... off..." Wednesday glared at me before pushing past me and walking over to her desk.

What the hell was wrong with her?

I followed her, keeping my distance. "Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm fine," she answered quickly.

I... didn't understand...

"I'mma go hang out with the girls," I stated, needing to remove myself from the situation.

"Whatever. Tell Bianca I said hello."

I stopped dead in my tracks and looked over my shoulder at the raven. Bianca? What...?

I didn't waste any time running out of the dorm and down to Yoko's room. I barged through her door to find her and Layla sitting on the floor working on something.

"Jeez, E!" the vampire exclaimed, startled.

I didn't say anything as I fell to the floor beside her and hugged her tightly, crying on her shoulder. "W-Wednesday," I murmured. That was the only thing I could get out.

Yoko asked me what happened and I couldn't speak, continuing to cry on her shoulder. She began to comfort me after a bit, knowing we would talk about it afterward.

But why was Wednesday like this?

Wednesday's POV:

Without that annoying distraction, I was able to focus on my writing. As I looked at recent papers, I didn't recognize any of them. I skimmed through them, not remembering writing a single word on the page.

I soon shrugged and began to continue the story from where I somehow left off. Most of the pages were what I was going to write about anyway.

I had been writing for at least an hour before I heard the door open again.

"What's wrong with you, Wednesday?" someone screamed. I turned around to find Enid in the middle of the room, glaring at me.

I rolled my eyes and ignored her, slightly annoyed. I turned back around and slid the paper out of my typewriter to place it with the others. Then, I stood up and walked toward her. "What's your problem? Why are you so close to me now? You know I loathe being touched," I grumbled.

The wolf looked at me in shock and disbelief and I raised an eyebrow. "Why are you acting like this when you were literally gone for days?" she questioned.

I scrunched my brows. "What are you talking about? Did you happen to take drugs while you were out?" I snapped unintentionally.

Enid continued to stare at me as a single tear slid down her cheek. God, not the crying.

"What happened to you?" she asked softly, reaching out to place her hand on me, but I quickly pushed it away.

"I can't deal with this right now," I mumbled, taking a step back before rushing to the door.

I left the crying girl alone in the room and began to head down to the library. What was my problem? What was hers? I was perfectly fine.

I needed to search for my first target...

I sat down at a table in the library and grabbed a book to hide suspicion. My eyes scanned the room until I found someone who caught my attention.

He was... like me—monotoned clothes and antisocial.

Honestly, he was kind of...
