Enid's POV:
"Girl! Wake up!" Yoko snapped her fingers in front of my face.
I shook my head and looked at her. "What? Sorry," I muttered.
"Stop eyeing your girl and talk to us!" Bianca whined.
I've been staring at Wednesday all lunch. She abandoned me to sit with Eugene—how rude.
"Exactly, she's allowed to sit with the bee boy," the vampire added.
"Sorry, guys. Just a bit..." I trailed off, not finding the right word.
"Jealous?"
"What? No!" I exclaimed, looking at Bianca in shock.
I wasn't jealous. She was gay and he was a guy—nothing to be jealous of here. They were just stupid.
Yoko chuckled. "How's school going for you?" she asked, chewing her food.
I shook my head slightly and shrugged my shoulders. "Horrible. I'mma fail all my classes," I murmured.
She hummed and looked back down at her food. "Maybe ask Wens to help," she suggested.
"Maybe. I don't wanna bother her though," I said, picking at my food.
"I don't know, just—" Yoko stopped speaking as something caught her attention. I looked where she was looking—at Bianca—to find Divina whispering in the other siren's ear. What was that about?
Divina then straightened as Bianca turned to us. "Sorry, guys. I'll be right back," she told us before standing up and walking away with Divina.
Me and Yoko shot a look at each other. "Is it me or have they been spending a lot of time together?" she questioned.
I nodded. "Also weird since she's your girlfriend, you know?"
I knew Bianca was friends with Divina and all, but she hadn't been spending as much time with Yoko until Xavier was killed. Maybe she was just comforting her?
Wednesday's POV:
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Bianca and Divina walking together. They had been spending a lot of time together the past few days—mainly Divina coming to Bianca. It was odd.
I sat with Eugene at lunch. I didn't know the exact reason why, but I assumed it was because I hadn't spoken to him in a while.
"You should stop by the Hummer's Shed after classes!" He giggled, breaking my gaze from the two sirens.
"I would, but I have fencing after classes. Maybe later on," I responded.
I didn't mean to hurt Eugene, but the tournament was coming up and I needed to make sure we won.
"Ah, okay." The beekeeper's smile faded away.
"I'm sorry," I spoke quietly as I stood up to walk out of the quad.
I was super suspicious of Divina and Bianca, especially Divina. They'd been together for too long—they were definitely up to something.
It was a few minutes before lunch would end anyway, so I wasn't worried about going out into the hallway. But once I went the way the two sirens went, I didn't find them in sight. Damn, I lost them.
I huffed and walked into the bathroom, which, thank God, was empty. I shuffled over to the sink and cupped my hands under the faucet to drink some water. My throat was dry and I couldn't have it like that.
The water turned off, and I dried my hands before leaning on the sink and looking at myself in the mirror.
Divina and Bianca... I needed to figure out what they were up to. I felt like they were up to no good. And trust me, I knew when I saw it.
The bathroom door opens and I snapped my head to see who it was. But it was only Enid.
She walked over to me and sighed, turning toward the mirror, but made eye contact with me through it. "What's wrong? I saw you storm off," she said softly.
"I'm suspicious of your two siren friends," I answered without hesitation.
"Div and Bianca? Yeah, me and Yoko are suspicious of them too," she said, looking around.
I nodded my head. Finally, someone who was on the same page as me. The bell rang and I looked away from the mirror.
"Let's head to class," I said as I passed Enid to exit the bathroom.
"Okay!" the wolf exclaimed, skipping behind me.

I avoided fencers as I walked across the gym. I stopped by the mat Bianca and I were supposed to meet at to train, but she wasn't there. Usually, she was never late.
I glanced at my watch as the hour hand struck three. Where was she?
My eyes scanned the room, looking past the white-clothed fencers. I tried to spot Bianca until I saw two figures walk by the gym's entrance doors. It looked like her.
And Divina...
I dropped my mask and saber and rushed over to the doors. I turned down the hallway I saw them walking and I spotted a door closing. I darted over to it and went through, slowing my pace as I followed behind the two sirens.
I tried to listen in but their voices were muffled. They turned into the girls' locker room before I could follow them in.
Bianca laughed out loud before the door fully shut. I didn't want to risk following them into a room. I wished I could've heard them in the hallway. Their voices were so low as if they knew—
As if they knew they were being followed.
I spun on my heel and walked away from the locker room back to the gym.
What the hell were you up to, Bianca?
