Wednesday's POV:

I was walking with Yoko to the abandoned building to finish what we started. I really wanted to kill Xavier—him and Ajax. They both deserved to be dead.

Especially for what they did to me and Enid. No one lays a hand on cara mia.

"Are we gonna kill him?" Yoko asked as we came closer to the building.

I thought for a moment before answering. "He deserves to suffer through more pain for now. Then we can decide," I told her.

She nodded and smiled. "I'mma suck his blood." The vampire guffawed.

I rolled my eyes at her terrible joke as we walked through the door. We went to the room where Xavier was, preparing ourselves for a round of fun.

He was gone...

"What the fuck?" Yoko murmured as she looked back and forth. "Where the fuck did he go?"

Where did he go? How did he just disappear?

The tool pile by the wall was tampered with. The cuffs that chained him up were on the floor, broken. Either he broke himself out, or someone else did.

"Come on," I ordered as I spun on my heel and walked out of the building.

Yoko caught up to me and kept pace with me as we walked back to Nevermore. I was going to find him, and I was going to kill him.

"Where do you think he went?" the girl asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Probably back to Nevermore to get revenge on us," I said.

"How do you think he broke out?"

My pace slowed a little as I began to think. There were only two options: he broke himself out, or Ajax did. Maybe a third option as well—someone else broke him out.

But no one else knew he was captured... "Tanaka, did you tell anyone what happened to him besides me, Enid, and the other two?" I questioned, forgetting their names in the moment.

"Bianca and Divina?" Yoko raised an eyebrow and I nodded. Right, duh. "No, just us," she replied.

I hummed. So the third option was no longer an option. "Either he broke himself out or Ajax did. We have to figure it out," I answered her.

We walked into Nevermore and headed up to my dorm. As we reached the last steps, I scrambled for the key in my pocket before finding it and sticking it into the knob.

But it was already unlocked... I told Enid to keep it locked while I was gone. I needed to keep her safe after what happened with Ajax. I couldn't let her be alone unsupervised and risk something happening.

And no offense, Thing wasn't the best protector.

I stepped into the dorm and immediately glanced over at Enid's side. She was nowhere to be found.

"Enid?" I called out as I stepped into her side of the room.

"Uh... Wednesday?" Yoko spoke behind me.
